Love the dukes photo.
And she's cutting her daddy's hair in the second one I think.
She did a lot of funny things in the book |

Book Rating : 5/5
I liked this book a lot , It's very entertaining. The beginning was the best it talked about her life in Philly , father's business and their mother's absence because of her illness. It also talks about her bout with segregation in Colombia , SC and her falling in pig slop . It also sadly talks about her rape and how it was swept under the rug but she boldly identified them. It also talks about her adventures to New Jersey where her father owned a hotel/bed and breakfast. It talks about her and friends in high school such as Lola Falana
It also talks about the J.B revue abuse
CONTINUED
I know a lot about the history of segregation there since it's my hometown. I'm even
aware of one of the former black owned hotels near Benedict college where James
Brown had to stay because of segregation. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint |

Tammi with Harvey Fuqua. I think Harvey and his wife Gwen managed her.
Diva!!! I love this look!
Sounds like I need to get that book. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

Now what is the story behind this song. I know Stevie wrote it and
gave it to her but why was it never released. This song should have
been her biggest solo hit. I guess Gordy and his team didn't think it
had hit potential. She was a talented and sexy lady.
When it comes to certain artists, Motown didn't really know what they were doing. Tammi was one of them.
It's to my understanding that Stevie felt that the song wasn't completed.
That's why he did his version.
As much as I like his, I preferred Tams |

It did feel unfinished now that you mention it. I prefer Tammi's version too. |

I started scanning through my chapters of the book again . She attended German town High School in Philly. There is something also where she wore a sheer blouse to school and her aunt and her got into it ( yelling , screaming) . She also had a love for horses

She seemed to come and go so quickly in the music industry. Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

she started when she was 14 (1959) and ended in 1970 at 24 so that was pretty quick. |
