I seriously love the smooth guitar twang in the song mixed with Aaliyah's vocals! a great early 90's r&b classic. Even if R. Kelly look's kind of creepy in the video cowering around like a damn wolf lol

Everything about this song is the business! Aaliyah is (understandably) viewed as more of an entertainer than a vocalist, but the vocals she put on wax for this song at 14-15 are fantastic enough to rival little Michael Jackson. Angelic doesn't even begin to describe it.

The remix is another slice of perfection. dancing jig

I agree with alexdeparis her vocals on this are so smooth i love it.

I really like hte production for this song the guitar twang and vocals give it this danger of the night sound... if that makes sense lol

I had Aaliyah's CD already because I loved "Back & Forth". Then she had the hot remix for At Your Best so I copped the cassingle (pictured above). It became an enduring mindgarden classic so I had to track the single down on CD, because they never put the remix on a hits collection, it was always the LP version.

I always liked R Kelly as producer for Aaliyah. His brilliant songwriting fitted her vocals perfectly & he showed her his admiration for The Isley's & she took his lead. The R. knew how to bring her soulful vocals out. They made beautiful muziq together biggrin

They made a huge mistake not reissuing the debut album with the "At Your Best" remix replacing (or at least following) the "Back & Forth" remix.

Agreed but they don't change original tracklistings too often. I just kinda expected it to be on an overview compilation, something like I Care 4 U.

True, but I only suggested it because they've already done it with her albums. The bonus track "Messed Up," one of my favorites, was deleted from the reissue of Aaliyah. mad

Yep. disbelief http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ah_(album)

The remastered edition adds "Try Again," "Miss You," "Don't Know What to Tell Ya," and "Erica Kane," but it omits "Messed Up." That's just... well, messed up. disbelief

That's just weird considering those were the tracks you were supposed to buy I Care 4 U for.
