Lauryn Hill court ordered to undergo counseling due to her conspiracy theories

http://vigilantcitizen.co...-theories/

The name of Lauryn Hill’s breakout album was The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill but it now appears that the powers that be would like her to record a new album called The Re-Education of Lauryn Hill. After appearing in court for tax evasion, Hill was sentenced to three months in jail PLUS she must attend “counseling” due to her “conspiracy theories”.

According to the IBTimes, Hill told the court: “I am a child of former slaves who had a system imposed on them. I had an economic system imposed on me.” Furthermore, Hill also believes that artists are being oppressed by (what the article calls) “a plot involving the military and media”. Because of these statements, Hill was ordered to undergo “counseling”, which is a way of saying that she is mentally ill and that she needs some sort of re-programming session regain “sanity”.

In 2012, Hill published a thoughtful letter describing the corruption, the oppression and the control of the music industry and her desire to escape it. In one part of the letter, Lauryn states

“It was this schism and the hypocrisy, violence and social cannibalism it enabled, that I wanted and needed to be freed from, not from art or music, but the suppression/repression and reduction of that art and music to a bottom line alone, without regard for anything else. Over-commercialization and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual. I Love making art, I Love making music, these are as natural and necessary for me almost as breathing or talking. To be denied the right to pursue it according to my ability, as well as be properly acknowledged and compensated for it, in an attempt to control, is manipulation directed at my most basic rights! These forms of expression, along with others, effectively comprise my free speech! Defending, preserving, and protecting these rights are critically important, especially in a paradigm where veiled racism, sexism, ageism, nepotism, and deliberate economic control are still blatant realities!!!”

Despite what mainstream media reports, Hill is not mumbling incoherent “conspiracy theories” but is rather speaking the truth. Her statements are a result of her first hand experience within the industry and her desire to not be part of its madness. Hill’s “theories” are simply an intelligent person’s clear analysis of a situation.

However, as American society turns into a real life version of the novel 1984, speaking the truth is increasingly considered to be a mental illness – one that needs to be treated and fixed. Does free speech still exist if saying the wrong words leads to a mandatory visit to a “mind doctor”?

I think a little counseling would do her some good wink She's got some issues that need to be dealt with.

The first sign of getting help for your problems, is admitting that you have problems in the first place. Lauryn has yet to admit that there is anything wrong with her....

Her main issue like said before is ADMISSION of your own issues. And though she may have valid points at times, it doesnt matter because she still has the issues she wont admit too. ONE being that she cant deal with her own self.Hate to be so blunt on this, but no one is really caring about Lauryn coming back and new music, time has forgotten her, she has done too much shit to even validate herself again. NO one would dare book her on a show cause she wont show up, or shell be 7 hours late and the venue will have to deal with angry fans etc.... Her best thing right now to do would be stay on the same path, do nothing.

Not paying your taxes and holding what others think are ludicrous or irrational political points of view aren't in my opinion one in the same. I'm going to guess Ms. Hill after spending 3 months in the pokey will pay her taxes from now on and probably still hold her "wayout" points of view about the world we live in... she's being punished for not paying her damn taxes not for her "crazy ass" political views. I don't recall Ms. Hill being involved in any other nefarious dealings... her career has floundered and I really don't know why but because it has others thinks she must be crazy. A career took a dive but no one has died, has been killed, or been harmed. If and when she thinks she needs to reevaluated her life she will but its not the courts or the public businesses to dictate she get "help". Something tells me she'll do what other do when the court orders them to counseling, tell them what they want to hear.

For real and even if what she was saying was true, that doesn't excuse her for being a frigging hypocrite.

That may be very will true but we don't throw people jail for hypocrisy. Whatever choices Ms. Hill , she'll have to figure out if she can understand the consequences and how she can go forth trying to grow and be good person. That's not always easy... for anyone.

Yes, we do. Everybody has their price and no matter what one's moral values are, if the price is right, they are sure to cave in to those beliefs. This makes them hypocrites. Lauryn seems to be milking the fact that, not only is she one of the most talent individuals, that the music industry has seen, in a long time. She is also making it seem like they need her more that she needs them. It is because she feels that way, is the reason why she behaves in the manner than she does and the reason why there is so much, sympathy for her. If she was just a "regular Joe", she would not have been given the chance of restitution, (especially, in such a fashion). They would have thrown our ass's in jail so fast, our heads would spin. Like I said, the first sign of getting help for an issue, is admitting that you have an issue. Lauryn is still riding on that cloud of "entitlement" to admit that she has issues. Seems like her fans are too.

Yeah. I think some folks when it comes to her think it's still 1998 and she probably think it's still 1998 too.

No. you don't.... who left you are anyone else in charge of Ms. Hill's life or her choices? Who? How does it affect you? It doesn't. If you are telling me you wake up everyday hand wringing about what Hill is doing or not doing today; maybe you should heed the same advice you are recommending to Ms. Hill. wink

Does anyone know if Hill became this crazy through her own thinking or if she started hanging out with the wrong people who filled her head with these ideas at some point?

Nobody. That being said, just because I am one of the ones who purchase her music and spend money to see her in concert, does not give her the right to treat her fans and others who have been loyal to her, like shit. Lauryn knew, exactly what kind of trouble she would be getting into, by not paying her taxes. If she hadn't then, not only wouldn't have come up with at shitty excuse, she would not have tried to work something out, as soon as she found out that her ass would go to jail. I don't wake up every morning, thinking about her and her actions. That being said, just because I am a fan of her music, does not mean that I am a fan of her antics. The only thing I care about is her making music. Unfortunately, her antic and excuses have gotten in the way of that...

Even though she paid them back, they don't want her to make another mistake with some of her values being the root of it. More people in prison would be so lucky to get counseling to help them thrive upon release.

But they make it sound like "okay, we got 'er, FINALLY. Time to brainwash her" on some REAL conspiracy theory shit lol

Oh please... there is nothing mentally wrong with her. Society is always quick to give peoples labels just because they hold different views from the norm. She has not personally attacked or insulted anybody for this bullshit foolishness and none of this has nothing to do with her tax issues.
