^I was actually doing some online reading bout the demise of Sire Records in the 90's and came across their signed acts and thought I should start a thread on the org bout BL and watch it die. smile

I was actually thinking recently of starting a thread about Book of Love. They were one of my favorite bands way back when. Their debut was the very first record I ever bought without hearing one note. I had only read a positive review and saw a photo of the band and took a chance based on that. Loved it.

I do very much like their second album Lullaby as well as Candy Carol. Lovebubble however is not so good. Letting Lauren sing lead on half the songs was a mistake I think because Susan was clearly the better vocalist.

I saw them live twice: the first time in their heyday while on tour for the Candy Carol album in Pittsburgh. The second time was the disasterous reunion show in New York in 2009 where their keyboards didn't work. sad

Edit: I remember now, most of their music at that reunion gig were prerecorded computer files and getting those to play was the big problem.

^Was anyone in the band except Ted when boy pop was released?

I dont know if they didn't get enough mentoring at the time or what was going on, but atfter the first disc I found most of the stuff pretty bland.

Though I do remember that Witch song.
