All this song needs is a strong funky bass line to make it soar like Prince's Traffic Jam.

Holy shit. This is my favorite song by Janelle yet! And that's saying something, because I absolutely love all her other stuff. I also love how it ends -- it leaves you thinking. smile

^THIS x 1000. ITA with everything you said. I'm fangirling over Janelle too lol Cant stop watching this video-the most brilliant music video out there today! I love that she dares to be original, creative and unique and doesnt let the music label and industry try to make her into some manufactured artist-their ideal of what an artist should be. Go head Janelle! headbang

Ive watched the video at least 6 times now lol

She is really inspirational. Young girls/women really should be looking up to her because she is a good role model. She shows that you dont have to feed into stereotypes, norms and labels. She teaches us to be who we are, to love who we are and to embrace how uniqueness. She is not about stripping butt naked and selling her body to be somebody in order to get attention and fame. Shes like no... "Im beautiful with my natural puff, tux, and swade shoes and Im not going to follow the norm take it or leave it". I love everything about her and what she stands for. Who ever marrys her is a lucky man.

I LOVE the video, the concept is amazing with its 60s styling. They both look stunning and Janelles rap verse at the end was awesome! It's time for Bad Boy records to promote Janelle because she should be much more known than she is. Love this girl. It's great she keeps doing her thing and I love her creativity. cool cool cool She gives me hope that mainstream music still can produce good stuff. Erykah was amazing like always smile

lol indeed Michelle Obama endorses Janelle too..they invited her at the White House in different occasions..and Michelle said she has Tightrope on her workout playlist....

Speaking about the video and song can't wait for The Electric lady's era...Janelle is the whole package she's creative, she writes songs, sings, raps, dances, and she also said she will play some instruments on the next project...Erykah is a great artist as well...

Am I the only one who thinks the song is wack?

She's taken two steps back and this will not help her commercially.

No artistic growth since her last album it seems.

this album I think it will be more funky based upon the songs we have heard until now( she changes style in every album if you are a true Janelle's fan you know this)...this song imo is a really good track it gets better every time I listen to it...I'm sure the album will be really good...and the music of the rap part with the violins is very archandroidish

The song is growing on me now, but I'm a little disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting though if I'm honest.

Looking forward to the album, and I hope she tours around these parts again.

She changes style in every album? What albums are these? She has only made two albums that we have heard, one of which is not commercially available.

Metropolis is an EP, The Archandroid is the only available JM album.
