Stevie Wonder's Working on Three New Albums

If Dennis Rodman can go to North Korea and hang with leader Kim Jong-un, then why can't Stevie Wonder? As tensions rise on the Korean Peninsula, and Kim threatens nuclear war against the U.S. and its allies in the region, the music legend says he'd like to travel there and talk some sense into the young Supreme Leader.

Speaking about unity and love with reporters backstage at the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night, Stevie said, "Listen, we could not be here without love. I wish I could say to the president at this very moment, 'President Obama, will you let me go to North Korea to talk to the leader?' Because he must not know the people that are helpless, that'll be killed, if there were war." His voice breaking, Stevie added, "It's emotional to me."

While he's waiting to see about that special diplomatic assignment, Stevie says he's busy working on not one, not two but three albums. One of them is a collaboration with superproducer David Foster called When the World Began. "He's put together some incredible arrangements to songs that I've done before with the London Symphony Orchestra that we're gonna do," Stevie explained. "Some of the songs that people know but we've done 'em differently, and some new songs we're doing."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer added that he's also working on an album called 10 Billion Hearts, as well as a gospel album that, he says, "I promised my mother that I would do before she passed away." That disc will be called Gospel Inspired by Lula, he says, after his mother, Lula Mae Hardaway.

So far, there are no release dates for any of these projects; he's spoken about working on the gospel album as far back as 2008. Stevie's last studio album of original material was 2005's A Time to Love.

I hope we have new Stevie music in the near future. That would be excellent news.

I can't help but feel negative every time Stevie promises people something. It was two albums, now it's three. It'll be five by 2015. neutral

My man Stevie is a transcendent artist, but over the years he has shown that he's quite the procrastinator perfectionist. As noted in the article, he first mentioned the project inspired by his mom five years ago. Only God knows if he will finish it in this lifetime.

I'm predicting that Stevie's trio of albums and D'Angelo's follow-up to Voodoo will drop in the same month! lol

Stevie is definitely a perfectionist. He places quality over quantity.I can wait patiently for these albums because I know Stevie won't disappoint.
