joni mitchell shadows and light i was bored and pulled out some old (very old) stuff and found a copy of joni mitchell's shadows and light on vhs the i had recorded from the early 80's. i had forgotten how wonderful it is.
what a band, joni mitchell on lead vocals and guitar, pat metheny on lead guitar, jaco pastorius on bass, michael brecker on sax, lyle mays on keyboards, and don alias on percussion. the material is brilliant, the performances are exquisite. i need to get the cd. ------------------------------------------------

Wasn't the DVD of this show available in the US? I know I went to Best Buy and saw a copy with the intention of coming back to get it, then it seemed like it disappeared. | |

Yes, i love Joni too. The DVD is superb . Songs up to Hejira album plus some conceptial videos accompaning the live tracks. Joni seems to have a great vibe with the audience (Santa Barbara,Ca.) too bad she retired, come back Joni!! | |

excellent cd & dvd... was thrilled it was released (import, dolby digital 5.1 sound, region 0 - so it plays on all players)...
for those that have never heard (or thought joni was just a folk singer, check out the mp3 downloads for today... the first was ripped straight from the dvd, the second from the japanese 2cd set... enjoy  | |
