Do You Ever Have To Stop Listening To An Artist?

What i mean is this... because there is so much music out there to listen to and sometimes you hear some REALLY good shit you just listen to over and over and over but you stop cause you feel the need to listen to other stuff?

That happens to me a lot cause i do this thing where i try to checkout out at least 1 new album a week from any genre to always expand on what i like.

And one of the good thing's about working on set is before doing sound during the building of sets i have hours and hours to listen to stuff cool so i can always get into something new or just jam to something old.

But i feel like i can't listen to a certain artist to long or they will become tirying to listen to or i feel i need to move on and lsiten to something else cause i only live once lol

For example 3 week's ago i was stuck hardcore on Godspeed You! Black Emperor's new album, Good Kid Mad City, Achtung Baby, Statix-X & Patsy Cline. Then i just dropped them and i feel like i can't listen to them for awhile just like if i listen to Prince i want to hear a TON of his shit then not hear him for months lol

So what do you guys and gals think? do you frequently move from artist to artist and album... or do you stay on one artist for a long period of time?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

it happens
in 2007-2008, I discovered Nightwish and Within Temptation ... oh, God, I only listened to them. Their music is a lot like a very melancholic, so perfectly blended and wonderfully suited to my gothic mood at the time. Then I decided to add a bit of optimism in my life, so put all of their albums in a box and sealed with duct tape for several years. Now again, I sometimes listen to them, but very metered.
I listened to almost nothing but MJ for several months when I became a fan at the beginning of 2011 and I honestly did not want to listen to other artists, it was awful, quite limited material again and again, I just could not get enough. so one day I left only a dozen songs in the player, the rest - my former favorite artists.
I had such periods of " sessions" with Metallica and the Beatles too.
in general, the world is full of good music and I welcome pluralism and hate cycle (although sometimes do), so I often force myself to stop listening to the same music to discover something new.

I often get stuck on a song and listen to it again and again ... it almost always ends the same way: I'm tired of it and never come back. so sometimes I stop myself after 3-4 plays in a row, I do not want to lose the magic.
