Madonna Albums cheap!!!!

I got this amazing box set of Madonna Albums today from JB Hifi for only $39.90 (US$33, OZ$31 UK 21 GBP).

I am amazed how cheap it is, the box was an inch thick and all 11(!) of the albums are in cardboard sleeves. The first three has bonus tracks and are remastered, the others aren't (Like a Prayer has a quiet sound to it).

It was originally $70, but had been reduced and noticed that there were at least 8 of them still available. I know theres a lot of filler on some of the albums, but theres a lot of classics too and thought it was a bargain considering the same store sells The Immaculate Collection (Another must have) for $29 and GHV2 for $24.

This means the albums are like 3.60 each at that price. The box says its from 2012 and a Warner Sire/Maverick collaboration, is it available anywhere else and if it is how much is it.

I bought as I would not normally buy all her albums as the post 1994 ones are uneven, but at $40 how can you go wrong?

It does not have MDNA though, maybe it was too recent at the time of release.

It has, Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer, Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, Music, American Life, Confessions and Hard Candy.

Needless to say I am listening to a lot of Madonna this weekend. biggrin

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Its perfect for me, I only had Immaculate Collection and GHV2 and Something to remember on disc, and many of the other albums on dubbed cassettes I havent heard since the early 90s.

I also had Music and Ray of Light, except these got stolen, so it helps, even if theres a lot of filler on some. Hard Cady I think is surprisngly good, has a great dance feel through it.

The first album is hilarious, naff dance beats and lots of Minnie mouse vocals.

Thanks for explaining too that MDNA was not warners.

The set is worth it for Like a Prayer, true Blue, Like a virgin and Ray of Light alone. The rest may make good coasters (Lol)

Excluding the Breathless album AND the Who's That Girl movie soundtrack was a mistake. At the least, they should have been include as 2 free bonuses.

Who's That Girl is not a Madonna album, there's other acts on it, and a movie studio might own the rights to a soundtrack like I'm Breathless. They're not usually considered studio albums anyway, just like a remix album like You Can Dance isn't.

I could do without those soundtracks especially Who's That Girl since it had other folks on it.

Exactly, it does say "Madonna Studio Albums" and not Madonna Remix albums, movie soundtracks. As if it did, where is also Evita.

Since I have Immaculate and GHV2, Evita I only really need Whos that girl and Hanky Panky for my Madonna Collection, but I mean those songs are not essential.

I have discovered that Hard Candy is actually a better album than expected and Erotica is a lot better than I thought, its aged well. Whereas on the other hand, some of the filler on the fiorst two albums is pretty bad. The first album versions of the 3 hit singles on Immaculate sound less catchy and funky than their original ones.

So far it looks like True Blue was her first truly great album.

I agree lol I know alot of fans don't like that album, but I enjoy it tremendously. It's a non-stop groovefest that doesn't slow down until the very end.I think it would be a good idea for Madonna to work with Pharrell again.

MDNA is the worst madonna album ever. I like almost half of it don't get me wrong, and it's not like some of the others don't have filler though the strong ones are great, but MDNA has more tracks I don't care for than ones I do care for.

The set looks really cool, but I have all of those CD's already though I've misplaced Ray of Light. I can easily buy it again.

Erotica and Bedtime Stories are where the filler starts, not the 80s albums. nod

I agree, though I think it began with Like a Prayer. Aside from the singles and Spanish Eyes, I think it's overrated as hell.

Erotica and Bedtime Stories have cool tracks, but overall do not measure up to her 80's work though she came around again with Ray of Light and Music with trying a different sound,n and IMO her albums start to finish were really well done with AL, Confessions and Hard Candy.

Erotica has lots of great song but some fller. BS is all filler except Survival and the singles, and the BS singles are my favorite group of singles she's ever done.

Yeah I agree bedtime stories singles/videos are some of the best and most creative of her career, but the only others I care for are survival, don't stop and forbidden love.

But that's like saying the The Bodyguard soundtrack isn't a Whitney Houston album OR Grafitti Bridge soundtrack isn't a Prince album.

I don't consider The Bodyguard a Whitney album either.

Exactly, Take a Bow is a great song, I love the tone in Human Nature "Oops I didn't know I couldn't speak my mind (What was I thinking)" in that sexy husky voice she does, and Erotica has a lot of great hits too, I realy love Rain, one of Madonna's finest songs ever.

The pattern that comes through in most her music, is that like Prince she is obsessed with sex. Madonna is just crazed about it, and that peaked in this 1990 -1994 period, Justify my love to Human nature was her huge sex phase and the part I found the most fun.

Justify my love is my favourite Madonna song ever followed closely by Vogue. Yet both are these are not in this box set!

I Love Madge but I don't need to get all of her Albums...I have 3 and one includes a Greatest Hits that contains most if not all of my Favorites...

Same with Aretha Franklin..I don't have all her Albums but there's a CLASSIC Greatest Hits album that has all of her Cut throat material from back in the day...
