Lil Wayne in critical condition...is better now Lil Wayne is in ICU in critical condition after suffering yet another seizure, and we're told it doesn't look good ... TMZ has learned.
We broke the story ... the 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures. He was released Wednesday but just hours later one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious. Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize. He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably. We're told Wayne is currently "unstable," and has been placed in an induced coma. He is breathing through tubes. We're told several people are at Wayne's bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way. Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably. Sources say there's evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system. We're told Wanye's stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system. UPDATE: A tweet from Lil Wayne's account reads "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love." While everyone hopes the best for the rapper, this doesn't exactly prove anything yet. TMZ has updated their story (read our original report below) to explain that, "Sources at the hospital tell us Wayne is still in critical condition in the ICU ... but stabilizing. We're told the prognosis is uncertain. Wayne is sleeping right now ... which is odd, because he just tweeted." I'm good everybody. The 30-year-old rapper's condition is apparently so serious that the celebrity news site reported that he was being prepared for his last rites. They've since removed that update, and stress that decisions about his continued care will be made once his mother arrives at Cedars-Sinai Hospital -- reportedly, she is on a plane en route to Los Angeles. Lil Wayne's first public bout with seizures came back in October during a flight on his private jet, which had to be grounded so that he could receive assistance. On Tuesday following a video shoot, he experienced a similar incident that sent him to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Both times, however, he was released fairly quickly. But hours after his last discharge, one of his bodyguards evidently discovered Wayne lying on the floor of his hotel room unconscious. He was rushed back to the hospital but did not stabilize, and so went on to ICU. He had to be placed in restraints because he was shaking so intensely, says TMZ, who also learned that he has been put into an induced coma, which has him breathing through tubes, and is currently "unstable." Sadly, the gossip site is reporting that drugs could have been the culprit. Unnamed sources say that the hospital found a great deal of codeine in his system. Doctors apparently had to pump his stomach three times in order to get the intoxicants out of his system. We will update as soon as we hear anything more. It's worth noting that Wayne's camp have been telling a different story. Young Money rapper Mack Maine went straight to Twitter to let followers know, "Wayne is alive and well! I remember having come down with some serious coughing and respiratory issues back in college after a very hard partying spring break vacation. (Note to spring breakers: have fun but watch yourself. Don't come back with the flu, SARS, herpes, or some other STD.) The school doctors gave me some codeine for my coughing episodes, and I can vouch that it was very effective. So much so that I was afraid to take too many doses because I was worried I'd get hooked on the drugs. One teaspoon is powerful enough to do some stuff in your body, but these folks who make purple drank often pour a couple of bottles of codeine-laced couch syrup into a pitcher of 7UP or Sprite and ice, which is way too much opiate necessary to get a buzz.

A lot of heroin addicts sip on that shit when they can't get a fix right away.... keeps withdrawal system at bay or minimizes severity of the pain. I read an interview right after Wayne was released form jail in the R.S. and they reported after weed Wayne admitted codeine syrup was his drug of choice... it is a constant. Oh well, whatever. | |

Some syrup drinkers like to listen to 'chopped and screwed' mixes, like stoners listened to pscychedelic rock in the 1960's. I think DJ Screw (who created C&S) died from syrup.
