I've heard the snippets of the album and wasn't impressed, so I won't be buying. I did, however, buy Suit & Tie...sorry but I do like that song boxed Jay-Z wasn't needed on the track at all, but to avoid WW4 on this thread, I will leave it at that. lol

Of course listneing to snippets isnt going to get one into a record immediately. Come on now.

No, but it does give me a clear idea of if it is worth spending my hard earned money on..and it isn't, so I'm not buying it. Simple as that.

Missfee trust me, please dont waste your money on that overrated junk lol

So far Ive listened to four songs on it and its the same stuff from his previous albums. If he had used live instruments it probably would have made the music sound better.

Who cares? What difference does it make? This isnt a musician proficiency test. They work well together and compliment each other to make good songs.

You can still like something and find it to be overrated. The reason why people like Justins music is because of the production mostly which is largely because of Timbaland.

It DOES make a difference if the media is calling Justin a genius when the production of his music is made by someone else. Not to mention he doesnt write his own songs.

Suit and Tie has eight songwriters and each song on the album has at least four song writers.

well it worked..yeha it took a lot of opeople but ah well...Timba;and and crew Fauntleroy should be commended

this si one of the times when a large conglomerate of help actually worked--not like in the movies where if u have a ton of directors or writers it turns into mish mash

But do you understand why this contradicts what the media is marketing?

If Justin Timberlake is suppose to be Prince/Stevie Wonder/Genius etc than why is there 8 songwriters for one song? Why isnt there any songs on the album that he writes or produces by himself?

Where are the live instruments that he allegedly plays on the album? NO live instruments on the album just computerized sounds.

I never said JT made bad music and I said liked Pusher Lover Girl but YES he is very overrated and he is not a genius. I dont think his music is innovative or original. I dont think he is the best male singer or entertainer of his generation.

I understand where u are coming form but I dont read anywhere where the media or even his own mgmt ish is heralding him as a wundkind or a genius

granted, they do seem to not be propping Timbaland up or Fauntleroy and them for their contributions...hell they didnt do that with Lauryn either though...but he did have a hand in writing and contributing to the tunes

and for comuterized production, they pulled of a warm sounding release

I think if folks really truly let their bias down and listend..gave the cd some time with no prejudice involved..that they would actually enjoy this cd

here is the only forum that I see folks being mass critical...but this forum has always been about the perosnality of the artist than the music

I love everything about Robin Thicke.... but I am not feeling his new single or the video shrug

So whether I am a fan or not, if I like a song I like it and if I dont than I simply dont. Being a fan and not being a fan has nothing to do with having an opinion.

Switching a couple of words around doesnt make you a songwriter which most singers do nowadays. Its arguable how much of the lyrics he actually contributed. If there are four songwriters on each of the songs its safe to say the lyrics are mostly due to a team effort and not because of Justin specifically.

If someone is calling an artist the next King of Pop, Prince, Sammy Davis Jr and a genius than you better believe people are going to be critical which they have a right to be. The media hyped his album up to be the second coming of Mozart so you better believe if the album did not live up to that it was going to be criticized.

I havent heard anything on the album thats worth all the hoopla and his music is no different from what the Maxwells, D angelo's, Donell Jones (who all by the way make better R&B music than him) but I guess since his white and wears a tux the media whats to make a big ass deal about it.

Most people on this site oddly like the album so I am not sure why you think alot of people here dont.

I think R Thicke is the business and he is just as good or not better singer than JT. He just doesnt have the machine behind him that JT does. In fact one of the songs Let The Groove Get In sounds almost exactly like the same melody as Thickes 'Magic' (magic touch).

I think fols here like the album but they dont think JT is the seocnd coming though.

And I guess they did call JT the new king of pop but that was in 2002 wasnt it. I think they dropped that ish years ago. I "think'

If not then thats foul..and even if they did, I guess it doesnt mean that they didnt run with that in the underlying aspect of marketing

and no..when it gets down to it..he is not touching Maxwell..neither is Timberland...

or D'angelo

thats why these nukkas need to hurry the fuck up because JT and Tim are creating sonic landscapes that are killin in three months recording time while these other dudes are taking years or even decades betwee their releases

thats one black thing JT has not co-opted..CPT (colored peoples time) lol

I think Robin is a better singer than Justin and I prefer his music over Justin's as well. Let The Groove Get In sounds like a water down version of Robin's "Everything I Cant Have"

I am not angry about the titles. I just think the titles the media gives him does not equal the kind of music he makes.

Anthony Hamilton makes good R&B music and hardly breaks but the media isnt hyping him up. So I dont think these artists having long breaks in between releases is the sole reason why they dont get the same praised. It mostly has to do with marketing and backing which JT has alot of unlike those other artists.
