Their first album with new singer Jasen Moreno. Watch the first two singles here.

Can't help but feel it's kind of sad what's happened to this band over the years. It was a tragedy what happened to Dave Williams, but they struck gold with Ryan McCombs and for some reason that didn't pan out... and now they're back to square one, I dunno, I can't say I'm feeling their new direction.

Bodies will always be a classic though!

I think people should give Jasen a chance. Saturday Night was a decent, albeit very commercial pop/rock track and whilst I wasn't too keen on OFAAF, weirdly enough their singles are rarely the strongest cuts on their albums.

I'm looking forward to the album. They've never done a bad one yet. There really isn't another rock band out there quite like Drowning Pool.

Drowning Pool - 37 Stitches in The WHEB Studio

Fucking beautiful.

Jasen certainly knows how to nail their back catalogue.

^^ 37 Stiches was one of their best tunes with Ryan McCombs. The new chap doesn't do a bad job on that, I have to admit.

Might listen to the album when it streams online.

So far, so good.

It's better than I expected actually. It's heavier than the last few records and not as commercial as the singles would lead you to believe. Jasen does a fine job throughout, not sure if I would put him up there with Dave Williams or Ryan McCombs, but he's a good fit for this album and certainly better than the singer they had on their second album.

I hope he sticks around and the band can start to form some kind of natural singer/band chemistry again.
