Janelle Monaé & Bruno Mars

The two of 'em are really close and remind me sometimes of June Carter & Johnny Cash

There are some videos of two of them

They talking about Prince in this one at 0:55

GRAMMY interview

GRAMMY performance

Janelle performing on their united tour "Hooligans in Wondaland"

They should make some songs together smile! I remember back in 2011, people thought they were dating... But they are really good friends and both are so talented!

They really should! cool

Well according to the vanity fair interview from last year , the album was named "The Electric Lady" and I also remember seeing the release date being around september-october last year, but I guess it was canceled. You know how Bad boy records works, they don't never push their artists the right way...

She needs to find a different label. They are not marketing her the right way.

My question is "she's still on there?" She should've been out of that label.

I agree but I just think they enjoy working together and if they collab it would allow their creative talents to run rapid lol . They both have been heavily inspired by MJ and Prince. Who knows? Monae might could bring out the best of Bruno artistically.. His music might not be on the same level as Monaes but his music is not that that bad. Its a big improvement from when he first debut (but yet he still needs improvement in that area but his working on it and I admire that.).

Why should he be compared to Monae or anybody's music? Bruno's music stands on his own. A collaboration with them together would be great because they are both incredibly talented, unique musicians and they both would bring the goods to the table.

Thank you. I'm sick of this comparison thing, it's not creative and quite boring. I think they could make something really cool, like Bruno and Esperanza Spalding did! An artist may be inspired by another artist, but that doesn't define what they want to be or at least it shouldnt.

I'm not comparing.

But if she duets with Bruno Mars it will suck, because his music is a total repetitive bore.

Her last album didn't have a single dud. Id like her next album to be the same thanks.

I'm sick of people giving Bruno Mars a free pass, when he is no better than the likes of Chris Brown

So his music isnt your cup of tea. Fine. I get that some people dont like his music, and that's ok. But to imply that he isnt talented and say that he's no better than Chris Brown is just crazy talk. Like seriously crazy.

Your right.

But Bruno is an overall better performer who sings live, dances and has good stage presence. He also is not a bad dancer the tribute he did to James Brown last year at the Grammys was better than CB's tribute in my opinion. Bruno was doing splits and JB signature moves which I have yet to see CB do (not saying he cant but just havent seen him done it)

Yeah I've never seen Bruno dance before, so I couldn't say he was overall more talented than CB.

But I think Chris is a good dancer. Better than average, imo.

Does Bruno write, compose or play any instruments? I'm pretty sure Chris just records whatever his label gives to him, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yes he does. He not only writes his owns songs he has written and produced songs for several artists like Cee-lo, Brandy, Adam Levine, Flo Rida and others. Years ago he and 2 other guys formed their own songwriting and production team. Bruno was writing and producing for other artists before going solo. Yes he plays about 5 or 6 instruments--he taught himself how to play them.

Bruno tried to do a little James Brown at the Grammys a couple of years ago. I was more impressed with his singing. And yeah Bruno writes, composes and plays guitar and keyboard.

I am not suggesting that Bruno is a better dancer because he isnt but he is an overall better performer and artist which to me is more important than just "being a good dancer"

I think Chris Brown is an above average dancer as well and he is good at that but he is pretty much a tribute artist in that respect because all he does is copies MJ but does a poor job of it.

However, I dont think Bruno is a horrible dancer from what I saw last year. Those JB moves went well with the theme, the singing and the overall performance was great. Chris Brown on the other hand does not do alot of crowd interaction and just does straight choregraphy and he is not a real artist and he cant sing.

Bruno plays multiple instruments, writes his own music as well as music for other artists and he seems to be growing as an artist. I consider him to be more of an artist than Chris Brown.

Bruno Mars is a REAL artist, because he is actually behind his artistry and not an industry puppet, he has worked his way up. Chris Brown had much more to say when he first came out, but since his first album - he has slowly been going towards what the record label tells him to do, else he wouldn't have been known today, think of other artists that were famous around the same time, like Omarion, Lloyd, Mario and that's probably where he would have stayed had he not done what the record label wanted him to do.

lol I actually liked and like Mario..... I always had a crush on Lloyd and Mario. I prefer Mario over Chris Brown (Better singer and better music).
