I heard Prince a LOT more in FSLS then I do 20/20 Exp. However I do agree about adding in the string work being very Claire Fisher esque.
Also, after Prince's first smash hit (Purple Rain) that contained a lot of great commercial music, he brought out ATWIAD, which was less commercial and more artistic, and also contained a lot of long groove cuts (Longer versions of America, Paisley Park, Girl, Pop Life, and Hello REALLY made that album for me).

Don't worry. The hype machine will crank back up soon. They intend to make him the "next MJ", so they have to plan another viral marketing ploy. Maybe he will save a busload of children from colliding with a truck full of kittens and then someone will "coincidently" catch it on their phone cam. Then he will give said kittens to the busload of children and proceed to do a funny SNL skit about the whole incident. | |
