I love that song, too music last year,I bought a 2-CD set that contains his debut album and the second album Send Me Your Love. There is some amazing music on those albums! I love the Kashif sound....funky basslines, moody synths, breathy background vocals.Very talented guy.

Thanks again everyone for your replies! cool Infectious chorus indeed and I much dig the voice ad-libs right at the intro. Kashif is also chanting some MJ-ish "Owwws" between the lyrics lol . I gotta revisit that "Send Your Love" project nod . He released a live version of "Help Yourself To My Love" on a b-side of a single in 1985.

Date Unknown - Beverly Theatre, Los Angeles, CA

I wonder which other songs might have been performed on Donnie's christmas special with Kashif hmmm Imagine that they performed "Stone Love" drool

The quiet storm movement with the smooth and uptempo tracks were on a roll from the mid 80s to circa late 80s with other producers and writers such as Barry Eastmond and Paul Laurence Jones III. It was cool to hear in Freddie Jackson's Unsung episode that Madonna visited the head quarters of Hush Productions (Melba Moore's huband) and that she checked how Hush handled their business format. Kashif's sound was in demand and George Benson released a great track called "Shiver" produced by Kashif

A surprise for me was that Kashif released an independent album in the mid/late 90s. "Bed You Down" from that album got some rotation on internet stations. My fave from that album is the jazzy instrumental "Brooklyn Breezes"
