My point is there is very little to no Pro JT fans on this board. No one is calling him a genius on this site, there is no debate on the musical ability of Timberlake. Threads bout gaga, beyonce, madonna, etc have pros and cons, fans debating going back and forth.

No one is in JT's corner here. Yet numerous threads are made just to bitch bout him.

Hate the industy fine, but thats not anyone who is releasing music at fault thats the game not the player.

Someone described Timberwack as "the truth" in another thread. lol

Yeah, like how he left Janet to take all of the heat during "Tittygate", right? Real nice...and sooo genuine.

And how he distanced himself from MJ during the molestation trial then immediately rode the bandwagon when MJ passed.

Every artist doesn't inspire to be the next Bowie or Joni Mitchell. Dude is a POP ARTIST and a very good one. His music is fun, I can play most of his stuff and not worry about offending guestand FUture Sexy Love Sound was one of the best concerts I've seen. In fact that album was pretty innovative in terms of genre blending.

Yeah, even he has said since then that he regrets his response to that situation. Too little, too late if you ask me. He know he punked out and successfully saved his own ass within a week's time. He went on to make his appearance at the Grammys that year after kissing their butt with a 2nd or 3rd apology. It paid off though because the Grammys went out of their way to contribute to the hype machine of the great "Return To Music of Justin Timberlake" during this year's awards.

Oh let's not forget how when Michael Jackson was going through the ringer while alive Justin was ghost (no pun intended). Only now that Michael is gone and popular (safe) again, he's singing renditions of MJ and J5 songs. GTFOH with that. He's the definition of a fairweather friend.

Oh yeah, the recent bad joke he pulled at the expense of those homeless dudes for a wedding gift/joke for his reception party. Real classy dude.

Ok guys, let's forget about his new album and single right now. This has been on my mind for YEARS.

Why does the music industry continue to kiss Timerlake's ass? It's annoying.

My main issue is that his last album came out 6 fucking years ago, SIX. I remember when "Sexy Back" "What Goes Around..Comes Around" and "My Love" had first come out. I'm not gonna like, they were nice songs and I liked them. But why the hell does the radio still play them like they came out fucking yesterday? They were ok songs, but nothing great. The songs I just mentioned plus "Rock Your Body" and "Cry Me a River" are on regular rotation. WHY?

As soon as I heard about him working on a new album I KNEW the radio would play the hell out of singles even if they sucked. And I'm sorry, but Suit and Tie is hot ass. The only part I like on it is Jay-Z's verse.

He has an extremely annoying high-pitched voice, his voice has no kind of dept or range. And he can't dance, he might have a little bit of rhythm but he is NOT a natural dancer and he's very stiff in the hips. These are FACTS.

So what's the damn obsession? My only guess is that he is a white guy doing more R&B-type music, which makes him special. Kind of like Michael McDonald/Doobie Brothers. This type of thing isn't new in the music industry. I've noticed that throughout music history when a artist does music outside of their "norm" they get a lot more exposure. Like a Female (Chaka) or white people (AWB) doing funk music in the 70s, for example. But STILL timberlake is mediocre as hell to me. Nothing special about him.

Oh, and his acting SUCKS. Who the hell gave him those roles? Dude is TRASH on the big screen. It's sad how decent actors/actresses wait years for their big break and this asshole gets big film roles form the jump? Why? Are people really rushing to the theatres for a Justin Timberlake film? REALLY?

Oh yeah, and his SNL skits were ass. razz

I don't get the hype. His album will probably debut and #1 and stay there for 5 weeks. Big fucking whoop. Half those sales will be the record label anyway.

You guys know me by now, I don't give a shit about who the media hypes up nor do I give a shit about 95% of what's on Hip-Hop/R&B radio today. But it has always baffled me why JT is always regarded as so great. WTF has he even done? Dude has always been "just ok" for me. Just another Beyonce, Rihanna, Gaga, Britney, Katy Perry or Ke$ha to me.

OK, rant over. lol

You should be embarrassed that you allowed yourself to post this on a public forum. Some thoughts should remain inside your head.

Being a Janet stan J It’s hard to be objective, but I’ll try..

I liked a lot of his songs on the first album ‘let’s take a ride’, ‘nothing else’, Worthy Of"

And Sexyback was different and quite a good club banger.

But in my opinion most of his songs just get boring after a while – If I never listen to ‘my love’, ‘cry me a river’, ‘summer love’ , ‘senorita’ again it be no loss - there is nothing really ground-breaking in his back catalogue.

He was really good in ‘social network’ because it wasn’t hard for him to play a pretentious prick. All the SNL stuff is not funny to me – he tries too hard to be one of the dudes, a prankster etc… and to me it’s all quite transparent.

hmm maybe i'm wrong then but he always seemed ok to me. that thing he did where he showed up as the female soldiers date was pretty cool, publicity stunt or not.

He's had some world class pop songs, however much credit you want to give him for that is up to you (e.g writing / production ) but Senorita , Cry Me A River, Rock Your Body , Like I Love You, My Love , Sexy Back are incredibly catchy songs and you've got to give the guy credit. He's never had a bad single.

He's no genius but i'd still consider him pretty ' real ' in the world of top 40 pop as opposed to Will.I.am + Usher types who could still be making great RNB but instead choose to sell out with the trashy euro pop style garbage

Uhm, okay so that automatically makes him a good artist? Will.I.Am is a producer and though his music isnt that good anymore you should listen to his solo production (the reason why MJ wanted to work with him) also Usher can sing compared to Justin and at least they are not being pretentious like Justin lol ... They also never were fake when it comes to MJ, like Justin was during his trial years, they always showed respect (even Britney Spears showed respect back in 05) Also why should I give him the credit when those songs you mention were written by Pharell Williams and Chad(the neptunes) their sound is all over those songs and later on by Timbo? Justin is as real as Usher and none of them will ever be the king of pop or r&b...

Hey. shrug As I've said before, music isn't rocket science people know what they like and what they don't... your ears, your opinion. J.T. is mediocre but that's pretty much par for the course these days in the music biz.

Agreed that their 'sound' is all over the songs ( same can be said of any song they collab on with any other artist) ' .. but Timberlake has a writing credit on EVERY single he's ever released.

You cant hate on him for choosing great producers to work with, or you could say that about Clipse, Kelis, Noreaga , Snoop Dogg etc with quite a few Neptunes Produced hits in their catalogue , same goes for Busta, Missy Elliott and so on for Timbo.

He's the voice thats channeling their sound out to the people , while perhaps yes maybe he wouldn't be as successful without their production help, they in turn would also not be as successful without artists to ' front ' their productions

Kanye loves to talk shit and he also wanted to become the next MJ, but even he knows there's only one TRUE KING in the realm of popular music.

Timberlake can never take MJ's place, nor can any other artist. That mold is broken.

That would be a whole lot of shoes for JT to fill. Timby's style is not original. It's acopycat style, and that's what's wrong with the music industry today. They promote manufactured artists and call that the 'Next big thing'. There's nothing revolutionary about his music, because anyone can sing his songs.

I find that JT is much better as an actor, than being in artist in the music industry to be honest. I've seen about 3 movies he's acted in, and was quite surprised, but he did a very, good job with the characters he played. He's ok as an artist,, but no MJ, and I don't think we will ever get artists like we had back in the 70s/80s that brought in 'new sounds'. I remember artists like Prince, Blondie, Tears for Fears, Cameo, Rick James, the whole British invasion, etc. bringing in new sounds.

Most music styles in the '00s, seem to be sampled. More like electronica-pop has taken over all the radio stations. The imusic industry seems to just push artists like Rihanna, Beyonce, JT, and still try their best to push Britney Spears, but now even Britney is struggling to stay relevant. The industry has no choice but to put their money into what they think is the next big thing. Sadly, there are so many, independent artists that have major talent, but ignored by the music industry, if they don't have a particular look. Also, many independent artists either don't have enough resources to promote their talent or the know-how to do it.
