How would you rate Boy George as a singer?

Back in the day he had one of the best blue eyed soul voices going. Not sure what he sounds like now, but I don't think he gets enough props for his early stuff.

Top notch. Some of his acoustic guitar tracks have brought tears to my eyes, the most notable being Letter For A School Friend. I loved his voice on PM Dawn's More Than Likely too. I like my George mellow and insightful.

I really love his voice with Culture Club & his first few solo albums!

But after that he kind of lost it confused and all he has done recently is this awful techno bullshit omg

When he was doing pop/rock/reggae & even Carribbean stuff he was great... once he went techno i just don't dig it or the way he sings.

I think a lot of it is auto tuned as well.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I think he's very overrated as a singer. Even in his prime, he never had that big a range. And now he sounds absolutely awful. His voice is so damaged, raspy and horrible. But everyone praises him making his out of control ego even bigger.

I did enjoy some of CC and his early stuff but I agree his recent techno stuff is awful. He's lost any appeal he once had. He should retire permanently but he won't since he needs constant attention.

In my opinion, I think he as well as George Michael, are two of the greatest voices in music...

His voice was smooth, like butta. I loved his voice. My favorite song, Mistake Number 3. Just beautiful, (and he was beautiful). Even the old timers gave him his props.

Off topic, I admired his beauty and fashion style. His face was beat to the gods, eyebrows snatched, hair laid with those braids! A sight to see, wink
