Keyshia Cole, Beyonce: Singer Slams 'Bow Down'Keyshia Cole isn't feeling Beyonce's new single, "Bow Down." We can glean that much from her Twitter account, where she let her feelings be known earlier today (March 18).
"Can't stand when people all self righteous when it's convenient it makes them look good. Lmao! But can still talk shit when convenient 2 FOH," she tweeted this afternoon. She followed by writing: "I done kept it real from the start! #RespectTHAT." Then she let the hammer down. "First 'Women need to Stick together' now bitches better Bow. Smh. But it's all G! Chicks stay shooting the shit. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad," shewrote. This is not the first time Cole has railed against Beyonce or her pals in Destiny's Child. She was critical of Michelle Williams' contribution to the group's performance at the Super Bowl in February. Kelly Rowland seemingly put her in her place, though. "We matter to a lot more people, with all due respect, than her," she told Rolling Stone. "So, I really don't care what she said." http://www.theboombox.com/2013/03/18/keyshia-cole-beyonce-bow-down/

Her documentary made it seem like she was ready to make music that had something to it, despite the charts or not... but maybe this is special to her . Beyonce talks that she wants to be a legend but her catalogue let's her down.

Solange put the buzz in her ear to make this wack ass song! I'M NOT SHOUTING, JEEZ!

Garbage..... just like her entire catalogue.

Its forced and honestly i dont believe any of the stories that she was offensive to women/swearing, no one is even talking about this song thats why these HYPE stories get planted, trust me NO ONE is talking about this record at all. Yeah I agree it's a non-starter as a propper single, which is why I thought it was a buzz-single. It's way too unorthodox to be considered radio ready. And it's pointless to boot.
With tens of millions in the bank, would it have killed her to try to be legit?
Then again maybe the world isn't ready for authentic R&B from black artists.
Look at the successes of Adele and Justin Timberlake.
The arguement is black folk ain't making music like this, but ask yourself, how many have access to the likes of Rick Ruben, and would the public be interested besides?

Thats not necessarily true but I agree with you to an extent.
However, there are alot of black artists that make R&B.
Jill, Anthony, Erykah BUT the thing is you cant be black and make R&B if you want to cross over or have pop success.
Adele and Justin can get away with that... artists like Mint Condition and Anthony Hamilton cant unless they were to make a POP song.
Because dont get it twisted there are ALOT of black artists that make R&B but the industry doesnt recognize them and instead only pushes Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher and so forth. They think since their black that they can represent R&B but blackness and R&B are two different things. Just because your black doesnt mean you make R&B music and vice versa.

Bey don got ratchet on us yall.
I seriously can't at her, the only this song is missing is a Houston rapper.
I refuse to believe this is her lead single, I think it's just a promo single. Not a very good one at that.
And honestly she's too old for this kind of mess. You're a mother now, girl. Act like one. I would expect this out of Rihanna or Nicki, but not Bey. Guess I was wrong.

If you blinked you might have missed her "haitus." It was more like 2 weeks, not 2 years MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

An hiatus in Beyoncé-world means not recording a new album with new tracks. And she hasn't done that for 2 years, so don't get it twisted... No one's lying
I don't really see how this song is "shocking". Bey has always tried to be more or less ghetto and "cool". This can go two ways. Either it's just a buzz-song and the rest sounds nothing like it. Or Bey has once again proven to have bad taste in music. I'm saying this as a fan.

I don't think the album will sound like this song, it's just to make people talk and get some buzz... But who knows... I hate this wannabe ratchet image, it's so lame... She could have done this song 5 years ago, but now that she's 31 and a mother, it doesn't fit at all.. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

Thought this was Rhianna for a minute.

Exactly. Even as a "buzz single" it's doing it's purpose judging by this site and others. It may not even be on the album at all (which we don't even know the title or track listing yet). It could be just a case of someone in the Bey camp releasing something to get people talking about before there's an official single and album release.

They're not even full songs let alone singles.
But.
She went the entire fuck off. and you can tell she had fun doing this.

Beyonce's music has always been garbage and cheesy. It is nice to listen to for dance or trends but will people remember her music in 20 years as timeless music.
I think she is desperate to be back on top. Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Adele have taken the throne from the Queen B.

Beyoncé, who has kept fans in the dark for quite a while now, has somehow managed to get even better. The world with celebrate the release of the highly anticipated Mrs. Carter album, out in June. Surely by then, her first single will be inescapable on radio. Filled with brazen, sexual lyrics against an aggressive, bohemian-style beat, “Don’t Gotta Work It Out” is sure-fire hit. Not many people are lucky enough to land a legitimate record, let alone one that hasn’t seemed to peak ten years in. At 31, Beyoncé has achieved a level of fame and notoriety that might make continued success an easy prospect. Yet she remains anything but asleep at the wheel. Mrs. Carter finds Spears still in control of her image and her sound, building on a decade-strong brand of feel-good pop. V How does starting on a new project usually begin? V What made you choose “Don’t Gotta Work It Out” as the first single? V Do you have any collaborations on the album? V Who exactly is Mrs. Carter? V What direction are you taking with the sound? V Would you consider this new album a revolution or an evolution? V What can fans expect from your upcoming tour? You know it sold out, right? "there are songs on this album that don't sound like anything else and are completely revolutionary"
Oh really?? She says that same crap everytime,lol...before the last album was released, didn't she say that she created a whole new genre? LMAO

I like how they glossed over her pushing her release date back two months to June. Hmmm? I wonder why? Originally her album was supposed to be out mid-April to coincide with her tour. I guess they're not ready...

I thought the album was suppose to come out in April!!! I knew I wasn't trippin'...

Not from what I can see in general media. Women's mags, talk shows, radio shows, youtube vloggers, celebrity gossip blogs, old school black community talking heads; quite a few people (who are generally over the age of 35) think it's trash. So do I.
Even bloated pill head Rush Limbastard addressed the song on his show, although his dumb ass didn't understand what she said, and thought it was a call for women to be sublissive to their men (which he approved of). Idiot that he is.
The song is still | |
