Her documentary made it seem like she was ready to make music that had something to it, despite the charts or not... but maybe this is special to her . Beyonce talks that she wants to be a legend but her catalogue let's her down.

Yeah I agree it's a non-starter as a propper single, which is why I thought it was a buzz-single. It's way too unorthodox to be considered radio ready. And it's pointless to boot.

With tens of millions in the bank, would it have killed her to try to be legit?

Then again maybe the world isn't ready for authentic R&B from black artists.

Look at the successes of Adele and Justin Timberlake.

However, there are alot of black artists that make R&B.

Jill, Anthony, Erykah BUT the thing is you cant be black and make R&B if you want to cross over or have pop success.

Adele and Justin can get away with that... artists like Mint Condition and Anthony Hamilton cant unless they were to make a POP song.

I don't really see how this song is "shocking". Bey has always tried to be more or less ghetto and "cool". This can go two ways. Either it's just a buzz-song and the rest sounds nothing like it. Or Bey has once again proven to have bad taste in music. I'm saying this as a fan.

I don't think the album will sound like this song, it's just to make people talk and get some buzz... But who knows... I hate this wannabe ratchet image, it's so lame... She could have done this song 5 years ago, but now that she's 31 and a mother, it doesn't fit at all..

Exactly. Even as a "buzz single" it's doing it's purpose judging by this site and others. It may not even be on the album at all (which we don't even know the title or track listing yet). It could be just a case of someone in the Bey camp releasing something to get people talking about before there's an official single and album release.

They're not even full songs let alone singles.

B I’ve read some rumors. There are a few, but I can’t remember reading a rumor online that had it right. I like that there’s still a lot of surprises to come with this album.

B She’s a strong woman. A happy wife and mother. Every song on the album is a representation of who Mrs. Carter is. Every aspect of my personality is explicitly defined.

V What direction are you taking with the sound?
B I almost always get approached with dance music first. It’s happened on the last three albums. I love dance music, obviously, but it was just time to pull away from it. You hear it everywhere and I feel like that sound has been milked dry. I wanted to go somewhere different. People are still going to dance, but it’s not going to be to electronic sounds. Again, I don’t want to give away too much.

V Would you consider this new album a revolution or an evolution?
B It’s a little of both. There are songs on this album that don’t sound like anything else and are completely revolutionary, but I also believe that this album expresses where I am today as a woman and is an evolution of who I am.

V What can fans expect from your upcoming tour? You know it sold out, right?
B An adventure. That seems to be the word that keeps popping up when people ask me to describe the tour. The rehearsals have been testing my limits as an entertainer, but I know the hard work is going to pay off. We haven’t even finalized the set, but sitting back and watching the dancers is mind-blowing. It’s exciting to watch everything from your imagination evolve into a stage and tour. It’s why I love what I do.

I like how they glossed over her pushing her release date back two months to June. Hmmm? I wonder why? Originally her album was supposed to be out mid-April to coincide with her tour. I guess they're not ready...

Not from what I can see in general media. Women's mags, talk shows, radio shows, youtube vloggers, celebrity gossip blogs, old school black community talking heads; quite a few people (who are generally over the age of 35) think it's trash. So do I.

Even bloated pill head Rush Limbastard addressed the song on his show, although his dumb ass didn't understand what she said, and thought it was a call for women to be sublissive to their men (which he approved of). Idiot that he is.
