The Bar-Kays-Dangerous

I really dig this song. Enjoy

Sorry for the bad video editing. The free version of the video maker that i used only had a 5 minute limit so the song cuts off early. I shoulda edited the songs time instead of allowing the abrupt cut off. Oh well.

Dangerous. From the album Dangerous(1984)

Yeah i would have liked them to release this as a single back then.

The Barkays were in full punk mode during this time with other

album tracks like Dirty Dancer, Loose Talk, and Freakshow on the Dance Floor.

I love the album's title track to this day.

@phunkdaddy. Yeah the song and album Dangerous are near and dear to me.

Its crazy when you really think about how many bad jams the bar-kays have produced over the years. They were on a serious roll when they released Dangerous. I figure from at least 1980(As One) to1985(Banging the Walls) they were the kings of the party jam. And if you count Injoy then they had done it from 79 to 85. Shoot the albums Contagious(1987) and Animal(1989) weren't bad either. And we ain't even talking about their 60's and early, mid 70's stuff. Amazing.

@simplesoul. you're welcome.

For the past year or so i would periodically check YouTube for the song Dangerous but I could never find it. I refuse to pay crazy prices for albums and i lost my copy years ago, so i hadn't heard the song or full album in a long time. Well last week i found someone that had a bunch of old school records and CD and they were selling them for a good price...I bought them with a quickness. For the past few days I've been jammin to Skyy, Slave, One Way and the Bar-Kays...I'm happy.

God! LOVE "Nightcruising," "Propositions," "Dangerous," "Banging the Wall" and "Contagious!" Wonder if these will ever see the light of remastering/reissue on CD. I already petitioned BBR, so who knows? MayBE! smile

My uncle bought me this cassette along with Nightcruising and Banging the Wall cassettes when he saw them at the salvation army and I didnt care for this song too much but I really liked sexomatic and especially them chanting to the ladies and the vocal echo effect ending at the very end. I have the 12" singles for sexomatic, your place or mine, she talks to me with her body (extended version) and the dub version of your place or mine with the Prince-like rhythm guitar is such a banger.

I have the 12 inch version of Certified True and Don't Hang Up from

Contagious and both of them are nice.

I have the 45" for certify true and it has a bside called it be that way sometimes which is just ok. it sounds like an atlantic starr knockoff.

eek
I don't get that at all with that song. It reminds me more of a classic
Ohio Players slinky funk ballad. Atlantic Starr was gone by this time as
they had traded in their r&b roots for a pop sound.
