Bruno mars is the new prince... Starting to like Bruno a lot , reminds of prince back in day. Just left the concert tonight in Houston tx with my daughter.... I confess I'm highly impressed with "Locked Out Of Heaven". I haven't heard other songs of the album, so I'll appreciate orgers sharing their opinions.

I guess we shall see in 30 years if your claim stands up. I rather doubt it though. Maybe if you were talking about Miguel or Bilal I could see your point, but even those cats would be challenged to come within the same realm as Prince. He just worked so hard for so long, creating a flood of incredible music. But there's a world of music out there, it's possible another Prince might come along. I just think whoever that might be is going to be their own kind of genius, and not the next "Prince" or whoever.

Bruno is a very talented guy and I have grown to really like him. Especially after he hosted SNL and did a very good job IMO. His music is catchy and good solid pop music for today's radio. Which I know is not saying a lot. However, he is not the new Prince or MJ. Also there has been a thread or two already making these claims so its best to do a search before posting a random new thread The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Well, I don't think he's the new Prince, but I certainly think he's a whole world better than 99% of the shit out there these days. He's a great performer and he's written some good numbers too.
I like the fact he plays a few different styles and has a strong persona.
Hoping to see him in the UK this year to see what the show is like.
I hope to be impressed.
The new song is bloody excellent.

Nope. Bruno is too eager to please. Super smiley. Prince has/had this mysterious fuck you vibe. Plus, I know Bruno isn't producing and writing all of his own stuff.
Bruno is just another in a long line of "The next Prince" contenders.
I dig Bruno, but isn't enough for him to be the 1st Bruno Mars?

I don't think that's too far off the mark when it comes to him performing and showing his love of music ,but I think Miguel is closer to being the "next" Prince.
It's like how in the begining of his career Prince was the "next" James Brown,Little Richard,Jimi Hendrix,Stevie Woner and/or Sly Stone | |

Hah Stokley's talent speaks for itself as does Prince's. Like I said, it's really unfair to compare another talent to Prince, just like it's unfair comparing other legends to newcomers/upstarts/even veteran performers who are finally getting some mainstream shine after years in the indies. | |
