It seems like it's gonna be a good episode

For real. Isaac's was respectful, my heart wasn't into Midnight Star's, EPMD was shockingly juicy, but Lou's sound like it's gonna be a really nice one...

yeah it; going to be a hatchet job
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You seriously think so?

Isaac was the best! I didn't care for the second episode so much , EPMD i gotta watch that and Lou rawls , he's always good so this is going to be good. I can't wait until the disco story. Also I like your new icon

I'm gonna watch if I can remember and find the channel. I have to say because I can't help myself, Mr. Rawls' isn't Unsung, WTF. Really.

Why would it be a hatchet job? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I still say "Lou Rawls Live" (1966) is one of the best live albums I've every heard in my entire life. Hell, some one could have done a documentary on that album and the times it was recorded in. That album gives me goose pimples every-time I hear it.

I have to watch online over here so I guess I'm stuck with waiting until the day after it airs .
But I'm looking forward to seeing it! My parents used to wear this out on the record player, in their car, weekdays, Saturday afternoons.
Lou and his tuxedo, my parents and their screwdriver cocktails while they went about the house doing their little projects and chores. Fun childhood memories... and I still bump this one in my iTunes to this day

It better be good. I'm really excited for this one. Gonna play some "Groovy People," "From Now On." "See You When I Git There, and "You'll Never Find..." today. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

No, look at it and tell us yourself.

I do have to agree with TD3 on the notion of Lou being "unsung" when he actually beat Marvin Gaye and 'em in R&B Grammy categories twice. Marvin said he wanted to (playfully) wring Lou's neck but that's for another topic and you know how we love to venture off topic!

I have that one i got from an older relative who was getting rid of her vinyl. I have yet to listen to it and have a few others like Marvin Gaye live at the palladium, the Manhattans, Grover Washington live, the Staple Singers Be Altitude. I have listened to Al Green greatest hits and Bobby Womack greatest hits. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Uh, thank you. WTF Really?
Form the time Mr. Rawls "broke out", 1962 (Stormy Monday) to 1971 (Natural Man) Lou Rawls' could do no wrong... for damn near a decade. I'm not talking about taking any long ass extended breaks between 62 and 71 either; at his height Rawls' recorded 2 albums per calender year. Then he hit a little bit of a speed bump but came back slammin' in 1976, "All Things In Time".
Lou Rawls ain't Unsung.

I definitly agree with everyones comments on him being considered Unsung.
Maybe they gave him that title because his underrated.
I didnt think Sly and the Family Stone was unsung either
Have they done one on Bill Waters yet? His another one thats underrated.

It does seem like they're headlining more "underrated" artists than "unsung" ones. People talk how great the first season but Donny Hathaway, Phyllis Hyman and Switch/DeBarge weren't unsung, they were simply underrated. They were all legends of their own time.

Yea I agree.
Unsung is a singer like Florence Ballard (Flo) she definitly deserves one (if they havent made one on her already).

She had one. | |

It trips me out his wife Lana had to paint her face black. Wow. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I was shocked he was sexually molested as a child. And also was neglected by his parents.
