What happened to AARON HALL's solo career?

.

When he dropped "Don't Be Afraid" from the Juice soundtrack, I thought he was on his way. I used to LOVE that song! headbang Though the lyrics were utter SHITE...

...you be sayin' Daddy to me...

...you can yell & you can hit me
it's just making me more horny...

...this is a nasty man game...

...now it's time to go beddy-by
no need for an alarm...

...lay your head on my tattoo chest
I know it feels good...

whofarted But the beat was cool lol Just saw the video on VH1Soul, wearing Cross Colors & errythang, LOL! Anyway, since the guy reunion was a bust & he may have derailed (w/ the stint in jail & all) does anyone else miss his soulful voice? sad

I loved Aaron Hall! All the way back to when he was with Guy. Him and Teddy Riley could tear it up! Wish he would make a comeback along with a few other R&B men that have faded from the scene.
He calls me "Holi" cuz he says everyday w/ me is like a Holiday...

The first Guy album is classic and the other two have their moments. Solo he's just "Don't Be Afraid" and "I Miss U" IMO.

On a related note, there is a new BlackStreet album that just came out.It seems that Teddy Rileys' bands (Guy and Blackstreet) are always breaking up,then getting back together every few years. So,don't be surprised if we see yet another Guy "reunion" in the future...lol...

Damn good question...I thought maybe he'd have a solo career a bit like R. Kelly...minus the kiddy crap. a solo force that would keep the woman melting & us brothas grooving. Love his singing with Guy...but Guys little comeback was very short lived & barley noticed. And its kinda easy 2 see why cuz I wasn't even feeling that effort.

The magic got lost somewhere*

Just caught this...lol yeah so I ain't crazy...early on I always felt Kelly was bitting off of what Aaron had put on the plate prior.

R. just blew up after that & Mr. Hall, the man with the far better voice was yesterdays news...Hall did have some tight cuts on his first cd...

Also, the first Guy album when it came out was some of the best music 2 dance 2 in the late 80's no-dout. Fast or slow they had it on lockdown*

damn daaamn u brought back some memories... lol i remember lovin him as part of guy and i 2 thought he was their voice and teddy was the sound... i think what happened was the sounds of the late 90's changed so much with r kelly joe boyz 2 men and donnel jones that the people kinda 4got about him 4 a while...guess that explains the poor reaction 2 his 98' comeback inside of u

I gotta admit, I don't really understand the "R. Kelly stole it" comments confused Yes, R's voice was reminiscent of Aaron's when he first dropped. But just as that rancid Cisqo can exist in a world where KC is still alive, I don't understand how R's success directly knocks Aaron out the box. Are we saying there's only room for 1?? sad Surely his absence is due to lack of good material or something, not simply the arrival of R. Kelly... confuse

Maybe because R.Kelly was producing, writing, and working with other people that made him 'outshine' some of the others, and that helped him gain his popularity, but I'm not sure of Aaron Hall's background, have to do a search, but it seems like that could be a possibility...

they have different styles too, and wouldn't not noticed that 'stealing' of anything, it wasn't until someone pointed out to me that Aaron Hall had a baldy, and then R.Kelly got one afterwards, if I remember correctly...

I didn't mean to imply that R. Kelly entirely stole Aaron's style. I think he did have a strangely similar vocal presence, but what I truly meant was that, as Starmist7 said, R. Kelly stole his thunder by offering superior writing, production, presence, etc. He's an all-around better talent. Sort of like the Prince to Aaron Hall's Rick James.

That makes sense smile It just seems like something happened after I Miss You, did Aaron even really try? I guess I should fish around or something but I don't get the feeling he got pushed out. Seems like something derailed him, I dunno...

I'd agree R. Kelly came out on his debut LP (and 12 Play to a lesser degree) highly influenced by Guy and Aaron. R truly started doing his own thing in earnest in 95 (Self titled album) and has ever since IMO...

Da KING OF MODERN R&B R.Kelly, was Very Influenced by Guy.Aaron Hall had the Pipes&everything but not the Drive as R.Kelly Period.Aaron Hall was suppose to do a Song with Prince back in 93 on his Album. He told MTV Personality Todd 1 that He was working with the Purple Fellow.nothing happen.Aaron also got caught up in Industry Politics as well.He talked alot of Smack in a Interview I remember reading back in 93.alot of People don't know He Co-Wrote "My Progative"(Misspelled) for Bobby Brown.Guy's last album Stunk.Aaron had some Legal things going on as well, but His Recording Career stopped Growing once Guy split up.Aaron wanted to Be Solo but didn't seem to have direction.
