the problem with "streams" is....this album has leaked everywhere.

delicious

How is this thread not a sticky with hundreds of replies? Does everyone here really care more about Beyonce and Kanye and that useless trollop Madonna than some truly awesome music by a real great. Madness!

In any case .. the album gets greater with every listen. I could loop track 1 for days. He sounds like 70s Bowie. I've been sitting in a puddle since the stream started. Good times!

I'm listening to it as I post, it's damn good. He's in a comfortable mode, experimental but not trying to hard to seem young and hip. I', one of the few that don't mind digital music so this is on pre order. Great job Bowie & Co.

Yeah it feels very natural and real. A very substantial Bowie album. It definitely looks backwards - there are elements from Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, Low, Heroes, Lodger, Scary Monsters (for sure), and later stuff like Heathen and Outside. It's like a culmination of sorts of everything that came before it. And yet, it's not derivative or overly nostalgic. It's a reclamation of his past catalog and a statement that he can still do it better than anybody else.

It is an enormous pleasure to report that the new David Bowie album is an absolute wonder: urgent, sharp-edged, bold, beautiful and baffling, an intellectually stimulating, emotionally charged, musically jagged, electric bolt through his own mythos and the mixed-up, celebrity-obsessed, war-torn world of the 21st century.

And I can't wait to hear the whole thing on CD... wink

The last track, "Heat," is far and away my favorite.

I thought the album was just OK overall, but he knocked it out of the park with that final song (just as he did with "Bring Me the Disco King" on Reality).

I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

Always great to see when someone who's not a fanatic anyway likes it a lot.
