Love Lana she's awesome. The music video for Ride is so badass

Can't stand her. She treats herself more seriously than she is. Her voice is a bad version of Nancy Sinatra's, her production and music sounds practically the same on every track, and her lyrics are laughable.

My introduction to her was via Bobby Womack's album. IF & WHEN Bobby Womack invites anybody to join him in a recording booth, you know they're good.

But here's the thing that I don't understand, which is not related to music. She has to be THEE darling of tumblr, can somebody explain why?

I love her album and EP, but those mixtapes on the side, blended with Biggie and Jay-Z, blech!!

She's not recording with rappers. Her songs were blended with Jay-z's and put out in the form of an unofficial download.

OK, there's four things wrong with this:

I get she did about 3 million in 2012 but... overpowering? Maybe among the hipsters but uh...yeah.

her music is atmostpheric. i'm an old bird, but her songs drag back all kinds of emotions from my angsty youth!

according to her wiki page, her musical genre includes 'chamber pop' & 'sadcore' ..

I really tried to like this chick. I got on her hard after SNL then late last year I decided to give her another chance. Listen to both releases and just not feeling her music. Decent production but her voice..her image is really her appeal..

She's absolutely wonderful to look at and her art direction is sick, but I have yet to be overwhelmed by anything she's recorded.

She's a fashion model who thinks she's a singer. She looks good but she's not talented imho.

The last thing I remember about Lana Del Rey was her biggest f*** up of her career thus far: performing live on Saturday Night Live!

That was the last time that I've strongly agree with the negative music critics on anything. This woman is so overrated AND overhyped.

Shes as much of a singer as January Jones is an actress.

I like January in her role as the former Mrs. Don Draper. That icy demeanor and the undercurrent of bitterness are the things I find interesting about Betty.
