It really is one of the best records that was a terrible cultural influence.

So true, but I don't like to blame the record for what followed. I bet Princy bumped this song in his car.

N.W.A. spoke on police brutality before the Rodney King beating, Christopher Dorner, any of that. They put things that were happening in the streets into their music, both good and bad.

I've always thought that the album goes downhill after the first three classic songs...

Actually for hip hop fans, there are several more classic cuts: "If It Ain't Ruff", "8 Ball (Remix)", "Express Yourself" (!!!!), "I Ain't Tha 1" and "Dopeman (Remix)". The songs in between aren't bad either.

I was a big hip hop/rap fan back in NWA's heyday but I couldn't really get into them. What turned me off was some of their lyrics. I thought they were too vulgar. As far as NWA albums, i prefer Niggaz4 life over Straight Outta Compton. Love the song though.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Man, I was just listening to this in the morning. Easily one of my favourite tracks to start the day on the long ride into work. Love to just select this on the mp3 player and gaze peacefully out the window at the trees and the rain mist and reflect on things past.

music I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world. music

You nailed it bro. It paved the way for lowest common denominator, ghetto culture as a legal and legit avenue to success. Kids no longer had to aspire to change their habits, clean up their language and demeanor to access mainstream routes to realizing the American dream. Worse thing to happen to the good since the CIA flooded the streets with heroin and crack.
1 over Jordan...the greatest since
