Ugh, Otis and his lies about Eddie "losing his voice". From what I hear, he could still sing. Maybe not to the degree he did before, but he was still capable. But other than that, great episode.
I can't stand that damn Otis. Urgh. He's such a dickhead.

Otis always sounds salty on these Unsungs, and looks like a crazy old coot doing it. Looking like he's going into the witness protection program. Sigh. I'm glad Dennis was on, and the other singer from The Temptations Revue to give their opinions and perspective.
Yes, that was very messed up having Eddie arrested at David's funeral. I didn't know Diana had anything to do with Eddie. I also forgot Rick was related to one of the Temps. Standing On The Top was the jam! Good seeing them all together with ol' Slick Rick. I also liked them showing footage from Eddie doing Keep On Truckin. I thought it was good. Eddie seemed to be a sensitive man. His ex wife said he was even affected by the squirrel that died. Not surprising that he tried to stick up for the other members. |

The bottom line with Otis is that he's always been jealous of Eddie, David and Paul. If Melvin wasn't his close friend, he would had been jealous of him too. That's one of the things that's frustrating because all of these men are dead and gone, they can't call Otis out on his bullshit (sans Melvin)...and believe and trust, I strongly think they would had, especially David.
I'm sorry, but I was dying laughing when his ex-wife told that squirrel story. Not at the fact that Eddie was sensitive about the squirrel, I just think they are annoying rats with long tails. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

Yeah David would definitely would , if he would call it out it would have been like the Millie Jackson episode. As for the squirrel thing , i kinda felt bad for him [Edited 2/28/13 11:59am] |

I was telling my mom about this episode, she's dvr'd it but hasn't seen it yet, we were Otis bashing. But she mentioned that in Mary Wilson's book, Mary mentions that she also dated Eddie. Maybe I need to re-watch the episode, but they only went into a little detail when Eddie dated Diana Ross but not Mary Wilson, the only thing Mary said (on the episode) was that she had a crush on Eddie the moment she saw him. So I wonder if Mary dated Eddie before or after Diana? Anyone else got any juice on this? Timmy???? [Edited 3/1/13 7:23am] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

From what I can gather, Eddie and Mary dated in the early 1970s for a brief time... |

I felt bad for him too, in bed for 3 days because of the squirrel's death.
Back to Otis, yes, the Temptations mini-series was made from Otis's side also. I agree. I wish more Temps were alive, and around to counter what Otis has to say.

I still find it amazing the the UNSUNG series is so incomplete in their investigations and revelations. Many insiders knew that Eddie Kendrick struggled with some sexuality issues.
The series only brought up Bily Preston's, but skirted over Freddie Jackson's and Ray Parker, Jr.'s. Wonder if they will deal with Johnny Gill's.
By no means am I suggesting tabloid journalism, but UNSUNG is supposed get it all and get it right. Music Royalty in Motion |

To be fair you're not going to get a complete history on these artists in one hour.
The show mangaged to show a side of Lou Rawls that most of us here were unaware of.
There also are probably details that the artists themselves don't want disclosed. Don't laugh at my funk

Not true. Unsung did bring the gay rumors to Freddie's attention and he pretty me refused to say anything about his human sexuality even till this day.

None of us know for sure if they disputed it while they were alive with Otis in private, the only thing we know is that it wasn't disputed publicly. Doesn't mean, it was NEVER disputed. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

I enjoyed the episode myself...I just felt like that there was more to his story than that..I love UNSUNG, but don't get me wrong, like the Disco Unsung, there is no way you could talk about that movement in 2hrs..i feel as if Chic, donna Summer, tavares, KC, could have their own UNSUNGS! back to Eddie, I just feel some things were missing, like the producers might have edit some stuff out(that happens though)..like one time I heard that Eddie Kendricks says he only met Berry Gordy one time, after that, he didn't see him a lot or Berry Gordy telling him that his career could be like Diana ross' if he knew how to act(an encounter in an elevator)..so I guess you cannot go by everything you hear..but I think his daughter Aika Kendrick s a very beautiful and intelligent young lady..check her out at the Grammy's with the other Temps, receiving her father's lifetime achievement award.. |

Exactly. Just because they didn't say anything doesn't mean that that's all she wrote lol
Especially considering Otis, who's probably keeping those thoughts to himself. |

From what I could gather... Eddie wasn't being honest to Diana about him marrying Patricia Kendricks. So she found out about the affair from a friend (maybe one of the Supremes) and that's how she reacted. They didn't say when Eddie and Patricia married, either. And from the looks of it, Eddie and Patricia didn't have any kids. |
