Bruno Mars has a weak voice

He screeches/shouts to hit notes which aren't particularly high in all his performances.

And his live performances are complete imitations of legends like James Brown, amongst others.

Anyway look at this:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...gyMBEIq1CU

at 2:32 he went so high with that note from Unchained Melody, and Sir Elton John himself was surprised by that (you can tell that immediately)

Plus its known that not every performer should go high with his voice in every performance.

Yes, he hit that note but the performance as a whole is very uneven.

I'm not saying he can't sing, but nothing worth mentioning tbh

if you buy his new album make sure you get the deluxe version, it has 15 songs instead of the normal 10. i like to have the bonus songs & remixes. i think he's very talented. if you dig deeper into his past and see exactly how much he does do, you can't say he's not talented. i don't want to compare him to prince, because prince is his own man. and bruno is his own man, they are different people. and lately i can't get into any of prince's new music. but bruno is played daily in my house/car. can't wait to see him on tour, he's coming to san jose and sacramento, ca. in july.

I recognize his talent; however, his bland songs suffer greatly from poor vocal chops. His voice sounds as though he's straining to hit the right notes.

This is the same sound I hear (his passionate singing is as straining as Alicia Keys.) It's as if both are attempting to sing the range Prince can handle, but they can't seem to. Although Mr. Mars does have talent. It will be interesting to see how far he takes it.

As for his Grammy performance (of his song-not the group performance portion) was the same as SNL. I say change it up buddy.

Crappy lyrics alone on grenade ruined it completely.

he is a very talented guy, but as many have already written, I strongly prefer when he sings covers than his own songs.

Me too and I think haters just can't ignore his talents anymore. While they might not like his artistry they can't say he isnt talented lol... He tries to at least make music and sing live and play instruments and not only rely on auto-tune lol....

That's true aswell, his rehashes the same performance multiple times.

Calling people 'haters' is simply an ignorant term people use because they have no argument against the truth.

I LOVE Bruno Mars. Imo, he is very talented. I think that his performance and the tribute to Bob Marley was the highlight of the Grammys.

Okay so I listened to all the songs.

Here is my feedback...

1.I still think Bruno Mars is underrated as a performer.

2. His music has made an improvement but only on some songs. A few songs off of an album is not going to cut it. I need strong ALBUMS not just 3 or 4 strong songs. He still needs work in that department

Lastly.....I recognize Bruno is talented but not sure why people think he is one of the best vocalist we have today. His actually one of the weakest vocalist we have today. He strains alot when he sings. He does sound nice on some songs and I appreciate that he at least sings live but average as a vocalist.

But I still will always support him because I see that he is trying to grow as an overall artist. His not just pushing out songs to get played on the radio and his a kick ass performer. (That doesnt mean I am going to buy his albums though, he needs to make stronger albums)

Congrats Bruno! biggrin

Bruno Mars tops Billboard 200 chart with help from Amazon MP3

LOS ANGELES | Wed Mar 6, 2013 2:49pm EST

(Reuters) - R&B singer Bruno Mars grabbed the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart on Wednesday for the first time after discounted online prices boosted sales of "Unorthodox Jukebox" some four months after its release.

Mars' album, which includes the hit "Locked Out of Heaven," sold 95,000 copies last week, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan.

Industry magazine Billboard said 64,000 units of the album were digital downloads following a one-day sale of $1.99 on Amazon.com's MP3 site.

Atoms for Peace, the rock group fronted by Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, claimed the second spot with their debut album "Amok" entering the chart at No. 2, selling 50,000 units.

Mumford & Sons' Grammy-winning album "Babel" fell from the top spot last week into third, while the same Amazon MP3 online sale that helped Mars also vaulted hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' album "The Heist" from No. 16 to No. 4.

Hillsong United, the band from Australian megachurch Hillsong, rounded out the top five with the album "Zion," selling 34,000 units in its first week.

Three of the top four albums are distributed by independent companies rather than large conglomerates, the first time it has happened since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991, Billboard said.

Alternative Distribution Alliance distributed albums for Atoms for Peace and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. RED Distribution released "Babel" for Mumford & Sons.

On the digital songs chart, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' cheeky rap "Thrift Shop" held at No. 1 for the eighth consecutive week with 326,000 downloads, a 10 percent decline from last week.

Mars' song "When I Was Your Man" placed second, trading spots from last week with viral music video hit "Harlem Shake" by electronic artist Baauer, who landed at No. 3 this week.

Digital song downloads totaled 253.8 million for the year, which is down 2 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
