Is that a stream you linked? If so, it's taking a while. Nevermind, I got it to play... [Edited 2/19/13 20:21pm]

On track 2 and loving it already.
I hope Rundgren does something similar with his album State...
If I can find this album in stores after March 5th, I'm purchasing it. His wife sounds cool.

Ivy, Ascender and a NIN thread makes Cerebus' cold grey heart almost warm and fuzzy.
No offense Timmy, it's just... damn... the years roll by, and there's memories and stuff involved.

A) I'm not streaming it. I ordered the vinyl and I want to experience that first.
B) I don't like Mariqueen's voice. And it's hard for me to not say I hate it. Everything they have ever doen as HTDA, in my opinion, would sound better with Trent singing. Even the stuff he sings harmony on sounds better. I have nothing against her on a personal level and if she inspires Trent to record and release more music, that's great! But I'd like it more if she was just involved musically, not vocally.

This is so awesome. | |

I love her voice. It would be cool to see what these songs sound like with Trent's voice though.

I feel exactly the same. |

I have to agree. From what I heard, it's a good album but I think it wouldn't have hurt Trent to sing lead on some of them. But I do dig his harmony parts.

There is absolutely nothing special about her voice. I find her it average and unexceptional in every describable way. Whereas, with Trent, you have one of the most recognizable voices of a generation. And I'm not saying he has a great voice, because he doesn't. But he does have a special voice. His voice oozes sex, makes you feel the pain, anger and frustration. Her voice is just... there.

I'll say this about Mariqueen: she kinda vocally reminds me of Alice Glass from Crystal Castles (in a way of course, not totally a semblance).

Is there a way to control the volume in the Pitchfork stream? It's set at an ungodly level & I don't see a place to control the levels..

I'm pretty excited for the San Francisco date, particularly if they play at one of the two venues in the City I really love (which they will most likely be doing). However, I already have tickets for the first weekend of Coachella, and then there's this, which was posted with these tour dates...
"These are the only dates we have scheduled right now. To preemptively answer the “when are you coming to my city/country??” questions: We just don’t know. Right now, the dates above are the only dates. There are some other announcements coming soon that will impact this as well…"
It's very likely that the bold part is a NIN tour, and I would MUCH rather see that, particularly when you consider that I can catch them at Coachella.

Yep, Trent already hired a new guitarist for NIN, a guy called Adrian Belew. |

I haven't heard that news. Interesting. That would lead me to believe that Trent is could be going to take the next round of NIN live further into the performance piece world. More screens, visuals and lighting, less visceral throwing himself around the stage. Admittedly, he's pretty much stopped the throwing himself around the stage already. And while the last tour was absolutely beautiful to look at, I found myself wanting to hear/see even more of the Ghosts stuff. Now, with the three plus hours of soundtrack work to add to the mix, I could see him really getting into the atmospherics side of NIN. At least for a good portion of the show. All that being said, Belew can make a nice loud racket, too, so who knows. And that's if he's really working with Trent, of course. I hope Robin Finck is still around, regardless.
