er

That's hard because I don't know all the years from all the songs I like, but I'll give it a go.
1956 had Blue Suede Shoes, Good Golly Miss Molly
1969 had Woodstock
1974 had The Payback and Blood on the Tracks
1987 had Introducing the Hardline According to TTD and Sign o'the Times
1995... I just saw a lotta concerts! Bootsy, JB, Peppers, prince
2004 had Joss Stone
Does this decade count? Prince's Melkweg gig was the highlight so far...

interesting ... I find this year one of the weakest in terms of the album's release. hmmm

my favorites Metallica and Pink Floyd released far from the best of their albums, U2 ... yeah, not bad, but again, not their best release.

Murmur and Let's Dance were great, but other than that, I do not recall anything remarkable
Yes, the songs were great, but the albums!? In my opinion, the adjacent 1982 and 1984 in terms of albums have been much stronger

can you clarify? smile

Keep in mind that Michael Jackson's Thriller and Prince's 1999 albums were released in late 1982,but the singles carried on into 1983.These guys basically ruled 1983 lol

In addition,1983 gave us excellent albums from the Isley Brothers (Between The Sheets),Midnight Star (No Parking On The Dancefloor),Mtume (Juicy Fruit),Duran Duran (Seven And The Ragged Tiger),Eurythmics (Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This),Luther Vandross (Busy Body),The SOS Band (On The Rise),Def Leppard (Pyromania),Shalamar (The Look),Frankie Beverly and Maze (We Are One),Donna Summer (She Works Hard For The Money,Rick James (Cold Blooded),The Whispers (Love For Love),The Mary Jane Girls debut,Naked Eyes' self-titled album,The Fixx (Reach The Beach),Culture Club (Colour By Numbers, and numerous other albums.

Madonna and New Edition released their debut albums in 1983.

1983 was when the 80s really became "the 80s"....if you know what I mean lol The MTV video revolution was at its highest point in 1983,with groundbreaking videos from Michael Jackson and others.

This is excellent and a great observation. 81-82 ruled! That lead to the music explosion in 83'
