Naw its original,,I remember MC in an interview saying "Rick send me this tape song and asked if I want 2 change anything but I didn't cuz it has the Mary Jane Girls signature's style all over it and I loved it just the way it is". I was kinda confues when I saw the liner notes the 1st time I bought the LP cuz the woman is "so invovled" in the writing,,well except this one.

I love the song but I could live without the "talking & laughing" cuz its ruining the song big time.

I read a newsletter long time ago(b4 the making of Glitter LP) which says that Mariah was expected 2 invite The Mary Jane Girls 2 sing along with her in that jam.

Anyway, whateva happend 2 Prince's produced song?? I was over-hyped about that track sad

BTW am I the only one who thinks that I Want You with Eric Benet sounds alot like a Tribute 4 S.O.S. Band?

the Prince cuts didn't make the Cut&truth is that is a Good thing because Sony didn't push this Album at all.the Benet&Mariah Cut does have that Early 80's Jam&Lewis signature all over it.good pick up on that one.

But it would've suited Glitter since its an 80's tribute LP. Hell, I can't picture Mariah putting this song in a LP full of "NEW" materials,,its just wouldn' rhyme along like that.

She still had Jam&Lewis&Rick James&that alone could cover the 80's fairly well IMHO.

I wasn't truly feeling the Soundtrack all the way but on the bright side She seemed in Her right element.Prince in some circles can be a Kiss of Musical Death&the way things were going for Mariah at the time it was best not to tempt fate for She lost Her tracks to J-lo thanks to Tommy Mottola&also the film came with Backlash before it even it.bottom line She didn't have a fair shake with the project IMHO.so it's best to work together where you can at least have a fair shake at the start.and frankly I wouldn't trust Prince Cuts with Mariah at this stage of the game aside from being Sappy or just pieced together.it's more of a Respect thing than a True Musical Colloboration IMHO.I say let Quincy Jones&Stevie Wonder along with Denice Williams,George Duke&donald Byrd spank up a Mariah Album.do it all Soulful&Balance things out.

Glitter was the OVER-HYPED mofo 2 me b4 it came out. I read alot of newsletters about the ppl who were planned 2 work with her in that project but as we all know some of them didn't appear in the record:

-James Mtume & Reggie Lucas
-Angela Winbush
-Jellybean
-Her "supposed" duet with MJ which he co-produced and co-writtin(Dust In The Air or something like that,,it would've been dope tho)
-Rick James
-Prince
-I read that Rod Temperton wrote a song 4 her too.
-Bobby Watson
-Re-recording her "unreleased" LP which was recorded in 87 with some arrangments.
-Monte Moir
-Terry & Lewis
-Roger Troutman

There was also a cover of Rene & Angela which she did with her back-up artist Mr.Trey Lorenz(who sounds alot like Rene & Mr.Biggs).

Now, with all these things Glitter would've been "Glitter-ish" indeed,,wouldn't you think nod

you haven't said a thing I dissagreed with on this Topic but:you gotta Remember Tommy Mottola&the Sony Brass Sabotaged the Whole Project before She had a chance to really get it off&running&I wouldn't want to see a Knock Collection of Great Artists&Songs down-played.now if She can get all those Folks on a Future Project where the Public can have a say than I'm all for it.hope this makes some sense to you?
