Question about The Band and Prince's 1999

What is the name of the song by the 60s group The Band, that people say Prince got his synth riff for 1999 from? I also heard that he used the vocal riff from The Mama's And the Papa's monday Monday, to make the synth riff for 1999.

You hear it in the beginning of the song and it might have been a coincidence as well, most of the time-the difference in music are lyrics and the way you arrange it. Because there aren't that many chords, keys on an instrument like people would like to believe. After all these same instruments people use in popular music have been around for over 500 yrs and even further back.

It is known that while recording 1999, Prince was almost Obsessed with Gary Numan. Lisa said he played "Cars" repeatedly. She once borrowed his car and the homade cassette in the deck had one or two other songs, but Cars was tacked on their several times. I always associate that track with 1999.

I think it starts at 00:34, but well, it's still different. I guess when I didn't know it, i wouldn't hear it.
