Not a fan of electrofunk or whatever, but this was pretty good. Be interesting to hear if it's mixed properly and mastered without the heaps of compression alot of todays mainstream music is.
Only thing I would change is add a guitar plucking away on the verses, as an awful lot of LA pop music did back in the 80's. Thats something that has not been brought back at all really. Not yet anyway....

I knew those synth keys bubbling underneath the song sounded familiar (before the first verse for example you can hear them clearly). Iam sure alot of these sort of songs in the 80's had them, but the floor of the track sure reminds me of this piece of Jackson funk:

Egh.
Just an ode to melodic 80s pop-"funk". Funk don't work as a melody.

I really dislike the vocals and the melody of the chorus, although the arrangements and the instrumentation are okay.

How are you guys judging a voice passing through a fuggin' TALKBOX?
You don't like the notes he is playing? It's not like autotune where you can still hear the singer.

I'm saying though, it's the fucking sound of a synth lol. |

They must mean the tune. I don't know anyone who dislikes a talkbox.

Yeah, I just don't like the melody itself (especially during the chorus). I don't think it really sounds like something that "belongs" in funk type of material. I know it's not that different from stuff that P-Thugg does in Chromeo - that I like - but sometimes small things matter.

I'm always hesitant to listen to today's music (I know I have the wrong attitute but little by little I'm getting out of it ) but this is amazing! It took me a while to get used to the talk box though but I couldn't stop movin'. Definitely has that 80's feel, which I love. Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!
