Pino Palladino - Bassist! It appears, at least recently, there's been a problem getting this guy's sound right live (D'Angelo, The Who, etc). Here are some clips where you can hear how good he really is.

Pino, along with other 80's session Gods like Randy Jackson and Nathan East, proved that not all 80's pop had synth bass (David Foster was guilty of this, but he did it so well though LOL). And yeah, Pino is all over Paul Young's first 3 albums.
