New Justin Timberlake Song: Mirrors

Wow so far i'm not feeling any of his new stuff. What's up with the lame mid tempo r&b jams? Why does he think he's Marvin Gaye all of a sudden too? I really hope there's better material on his album.

Brilliant, just brilliant, one of the finest musical experiences since Long Gone by Chris Cornell. I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

How many times is Timbaland going to use that drum pattern?
I guess as long as dumbass people keep buying it or requesting it on the radio.

His best music, since his debut. Aside from one or two cuts from his last album, I was not feeling that one at all. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Although I've grown tired of Timbaland's continued use of this beat, this song is probably the most radio-friendly out of the bunch. We'll see if his performance lastnight of "Suit & Tie" will redeem it on the charts. Last checked, it peaked #4. But like I said, that was before last night with a few million people watching.

Vanilla.
If Robin Thicke was singing this – no one would care.

I kinda like the big 80s chorus. I agree that the beat Tim is using was played out in 2004. Time for an update.
I can't help but think this song would be better suited for JC. I can hear him singing it, and I think he could do more with it vocally. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Though it's nice, it's also safe and cookie cutter, which I think the album will be.

He needs to stray away from Timbaland like Mike did Quincy.

Great advice, stay far away from the producer that helped you have your biggest hits. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I can dig it.
So is this the new single?

Very "current-sounding" 2 say the least and has a very strong Radio hook in the chorus. I can see this one blowin' up all over the place. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I love it but that's because this is the justin I like, not that mess he was doing with suit & tie But I can understand if someone feels that him and Timb need to update the sound.

Are we all listening to the same song?
It sounds like one of the songs that got cut from Justified.
Even Cry Me a River is better than this
The VERY beginning seems creative but when the beat drops its a instance failure.
In other words?

Timbaland is NOT Quincy Jones.
BIG DIFFERENCE.
Tim has boxed Justin in a specific sound and does not venture from that. If he is going to work with Justin for the rest of his career than he is going to have to be alot more creative and experimental

Wow, we're on opposides of the fence. I love the vast majority of his 2nd album, especially "Summer Love" and "What Goes Around," but "Cry Me a River" will always be THE Timberlake song in my eyes.
As for "Mirrors," I like it on first listen and it's infinitely better than "Suit & Tie," but I wouldn't put it among his best. I guess it may grow on me. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
