Van Halen Classic Albums Remastered For Box Set
February 7, 2013
As Van Halen fans wait for the band to announce its 2013 touring plans, the rockers have announced that a box set featuring all of their early studio albums with singer David Lee Roth will be released on March 26.
The Studio Albums 1978-1984 is a limited-edition package containing six CDs -- 1978's Van Halen, 1979's Van Halen II, 1980's Women and Children First, 1981's Fair Warning, 1982's Diver Down and 1984's aptly titled 1984.
The "no-frills" set boasts remastered versions of the releases without any bonus tracks.
The CDs are housed in paper sleeve replicas of the original album covers, all collected in a clamshell box. The Studio Albums 1978-1984 is available for pre-order now at Van Halen's official online store.

Some live stuff woulda been nice. But I never got the impression they were a band that had a lot of unreleased stuff on the shelf. Seems like they went into the studio as soon as they had thirty minutes of stuff ready to record.
Question is, will they be remastered for the Ipod and sound worse than the 80s issues? I'll probably wait and see before plunking down for it.
THe albums themselves are great though. | |
