She was so offended that the first person she called was her press agent! lol

Exactly.

I agree with her point but why did she feel it was important to make it public? neutral

She just seems shady to me.

She's trying to keep her name out there to sell copies of that book. She'd probably have still made something out of it if she wasn't invited just for the press.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Allegedly TLC held him and a few Arista execs hostage over money. But the way T-Boz told it, I don't know if I really believe that... I mean I know of some artists putting guns on people (James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Ike Turner, Big Mama Thornton, Ray Charles, etc.) but she made it seem like a Pulp Fiction scene without the actual shooting.

Oh please. Why do some people, especially some Black people act so righteous.

Cissy knew what Whitney was all about and that she was on a collision course with disaster.

If she hadn't been invited she would have had something to say.

The entire Houston/Drinkard family is/was full of alocholics/drug addicts/lesbians/homosexual, why Cissy acts all surprised and stays in denial is beyond me.

She used to have a problem with booze herself and was rumoured to be involved with a very famous singer's background singer.

Keep it moving Cissy, Nippy is gone. She was gone way before February of last year.

I like this post.

Who is the famous singer and who is her background singer? None of my businesss, but I am incredibly interested in knowing what kinda man, if any, would have captivated her, and could have motivated her to stray. Fascinating.

Nippy is gone. She was gone way before February of last year. You hit the head of the nail with that deep river. Really brings home how said this shit is when you put it that way.

The entire Houston/Drinkard family is/was full of alocholics/drug addicts/lesbians/homosexual... How people like Cissy Houston (people act so righteous) can still see alcohlics and drug addicts as equatable positions to someone being LesbianGayQueer is disheartening. That is truly some apples and oranges stuff. I don't have problems per se with alcoholics and drug addicts (I have been each for brief and extended periods of time), but I don't care for the assumption that "lesbians/homosexuals" ought be in that moral conversation inherently. I will readily acknowledge that apples and oranges are ofen sold in the same produce department, but they are rarely grown in the same field. But I think Cissy's righteous and transparent public position about some of these issues will contrast sharply with what big numbers of young people know and see around them. And this seems a recipe for positive change in coming generations.

Lea Delaria tells a joke about a woman on line in front of her at a woman's bookstore being told of a "10% discount for being a Lesbian". The woman said that no she wasn't a Lesbian, and declined the discount. The clerk restated that there was a "10% discount for being a Lesbian" - WINK, just say you are a Lesbian and save some money through this discount. But not even for the 10% discount would this woman say she was a Lesbian, not for moment, even in a whisper. (Lesbians are "whack".) When Lea tells it this is pretty funny and high joke - please pardon my butchery of it. But I am now wondering if Cissy would take the discount if it meant greater healthlovelife for her daughter. "I didn't want her to run completely away from me." Instead of being concerned for Bobbi Kris, take the discount, Cissy.

The saddest thing about this is that like most celebrities' parents, they're gonna blame those who were "close" to that artist for that person's death or say they were negligent and I have to say to keep on having a party while your client is dead upstairs is definitely a call for negligence in my eyes. So I don't blame Cissy for that.

Amazing that Whitney's brother and his wife are not offended. Cissy is so into drama.

The way she put hands on Robyn Crawford and on her niece Dee Dee Wawrwick's lesbian lover, she needs to go somewhere and sit her butt down.

I forgot you said Dee Dee was gay. I did shake my head when she said what she said about the supposed belief of Whitney's own homosexuality/bisexuality. That family definitely has some suspicious characters though.

Ray Charles? What happend?

I know Esther Phillips & Nina Simone went to their labels with shot guns under their furs lol Esther was beneath the bottom at the time, she had nothing to lose.

Whether Cissy's taking offense is real or not it doesn't make Clive Davis any less of a f-ing parasite. People are assuming she called a publicist to make a statement when we don't know that...it could be that the media called her for a comment.

How is she supposed to feel towards a guy who didn't stop a damned party when the woman he claimed to care so much about was lying dead in a room upstairs?

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

OK, that might've been for concert execs, not record execs. wink But yeah I remember reading that about Esther. lol

I definitly think Clive is a parasite and how he handled Whitneys passing was very disrespectful.

I just think sometimes Cissy tries to exploit and profit when its not necessary.

Your right, its possible the media did call her but why would the media call her? lol

How would they know if she was invited or not invited unless she said something?

The LEAST he could've done was hold the party at another location!

The MOST he could've done was cancel last years party.

That he did neither says a lot about his judgement and/or character.

Yeah... if she wasn't invited, I reckon the headline would be 'Cissy Houston slams Clive Davis for being snubbed from his annual Grammy party'....You know, it was probably a sincere gesture and his way of reaching out to the family... it could have been taken either way... Cissy took it as an insult.

He doesn't give a damn about them. He proved that the night she died. All she was, was a money machine for him and he's still trying to make money off of her.

.......and her standards. nod

CASE IN POINT: Just a few days before Whitney's death, Clive was already promote Jennifer Hudson as "THE next Whitney Houston", despite that Jennifer is more Jennifer Holiday-like as a vocalist.

And years before that, Clive intended to make Kelly Clarkson "The next Whitney", but Kelly's Pat Benatar-inspired pop-rock direction prevent that from happening.

Good luck with that, hope he finds a solution with her labor-like hollering before he coins her the next-"anybody".

Finding the next Whitney is like finding the next Michael/Prince/Madonna: That Shit is NOT Going To Happen! lol

But there will be wannabes & clones nonetheless.
