The Strokes - Comedown Machine

Any thoughts on their lateset album? I really like it. I'm not sure yet if I think it's as good as Angles (which I loved) but so far I like the vibe on this album too. There are definitely some tracks that are lacking some oomph but the stand out song in my opinion are Welcome to Japan, Tap Out & One Way Trigger.

Strangely, there's no press, photos or concert dates. I wonder why? I hope this is not the end for them. I can't think of another artist that has released an album and has done nothing in support of it. I'm curious to see how their album does on the charts due to lack of press. In this day and age can an album survive with no support?? Do you think it matters?

Got it! Am enjoying it. One song is really great but I can't remember the name at the moment. Love this band.

Cool, another Strokes fan. The more I listen to this album I really love it. Some of the songs that I tthought were weaker are even growing on me.

I like how sometimes they can sound like a totally different band and he can sound like 3 different singers. Love his falsetto too.

I remember the buzz they created even before they had a record out. I think I got all their early stuff off of Limewire and even though it wasn't great quality, it was great stuff. Then their first EP came out and they blew up like I knew they would.

I think I like them because they don't seem pretentious or like they are just looking for a hit single.

As a matter of fact, I think this kind of hurt their record sales but I don't think that matters to them.

Well, here is the record in case anyone wants to hear it.
