She started off straining...and barely made it through the song.

Alicia's vocals are more equipped for Blues/Jazz/Soul music but I feel she peaked YEARS ago as a vocalist. (2001/2002)

She doesnt have the chops to do a song like this.

She really needs to work on her vocals or get a vocal coach. I dont know why these young stars think they are so above it. Some of the best singers of all time had vocal coaches.

They should have asked Jennifer Hudson to sing the National Anthem.

Singers like Jen, Chrisette, Ledsi, Aguilera can belt and have the chops for a song like this.
