Talking Heads- Remain In Light I Am absolutely obsessed with this album right now!!!
Confession time... besides Stop Making Sense i have slept on the Talking Heads... idk why! this band is fucking amazing.
And this album is an alternative/new wave/rock/funk masterpiece.
Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

My favorite TH album, definitely!

Think my favourite Talking Heads stuff is the 1-2-3 punch of Speaking in Tongues, Stop Making Sense and Little Creatures. Most of their early stuff is a bit too "arty" for me... We're here, might as well get into it.

This is the ultimate Talking Heads album, for sure. * * *

Hugely underrated and ahead of their time. They haven't received nearly as much attention post-breakup as they could because of David Byrne's refusal to have anything to do with them. That's always seemed weird to me, but hey, whatever frosts his pickle.
For me, Sand In The Vaseline is pretty much all I ever need to listen to. It's a stellar collection music, imo.

Also...
Edit: I know you mentioned it up above, I just thought it was cool that it was on the Tubes in one piece.

Wow I really want to buy this. I always liked Once In a Lifetime, and was recently reading a local talk show hosts book about a memoir of his adolesent life and he described what it was like seeing them for the first time, and when I clicked on all these links you posted at the right time, I understood why. I love all the drum beats, instruments, samples etc. and will try to buy it at some point!

It's fantastic. I might just slot Fear Of Music above it half a notch as more consistent from start to finish, but the highlights here are some of their best tunes. I saw them in 1982 when this was the "new" album.
