Which was my point all along about jam and Lewis. Touring hasn't been these
guys thing for a long time. They don't have to work until they feel like
it. That's the truth.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Hoping this album is like a collaboration with all the major artists theyve created hits with through the years, with new music of course: usher, cherrelle, new edition, janet, mint condition, boyz ll men, mary j. blige, el debarge, etc. and established artists theyve never worked with before.

Man I wish Prince would allow his songs to be sampled . He would make millions. I guess he treasures his "MasterPieces"...

Prince DOES approve samples but only rarely. He doesn't like women being called bitches (except in his own recording "Irresistible Bitch") and I have heard the songs that had to be redone because Prince did not approve the content. If you heard them, you know why he didn't want to be associated with them. For some reason, anytime an artist goes to sample Prince, their writing goes in the gutter.

Here is one Prince approved while he was labelmates with Big Daddy Kane, and I find it very appealing.

Thanks for posting Cinny! I completely forgot about that joint by BDK. Been years since I've heard it. Did Mr. Nelson approve of Tupac sampling "Do Me Baby" or was that just a Warner Bros. thing?

I don't think so. "To Live And Die In LA" is replayed, and it is supposed to be Ronnie Laws "Friends & Strangers" which is the same chord progression as "Do Me Baby".

Damn sure is! Wow! All these years I assumed they were playing a portion of DMB. Learn something new everyday. Thanks!

I agree. They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by now, if not soon.
