Prince DOES approve samples but only rarely. He doesn't like women being called bitches (except in his own recording "Irresistible Bitch") and I have heard the songs that had to be redone because Prince did not approve the content. If you heard them, you know why he didn't want to be associated with them. For some reason, anytime an artist goes to sample Prince, their writing goes in the gutter.

Here is one Prince approved while he was labelmates with Big Daddy Kane, and I find it very appealing.

I don't think so. "To Live And Die In LA" is replayed, and it is supposed to be Ronnie Laws "Friends & Strangers" which is the same chord progression as "Do Me Baby".
