Don Henley Reveal Details About Solo Album, Eagles Tour
January 30, 2013
The Eagles are planning to hit the road later this year for a tour celebrating their 40th anniversary and in conjunction with their new documentary, History of the Eagles. Before that trek, singer Don Henley has a single solo date lined up that will take place this Friday at the Revel Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
In the course of promoting the show, Henley revealed to the Atlantic City Insiders website some details about the solo album he's been working on for the last three years.
He says the project finally will be released in May, noting, "It's a bit of a departure for me, so it'll be interesting to see how it's received." The record reportedly will include tunes that feature a country flavor.
Back on the subject of the Eagles, Henley shared some information about the group's upcoming trek. There's been some speculation in the media about whether the band would invite any of its former members to participate in the anniversary outing. Reports Henley, "[Founding singer/guitarist] Bernie Leadon is the only ex-member we're considering at the moment."
He also notes that the band hasn't been discussing recording a new album, adding, "We'll see how the tour goes."
The Eagles currently have one confirmed show on their schedule, a March 23 performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The group's History of the Eagles tour is expected to begin sometime in the summer.

I guess Timothy B. Schmit is left, since Glenn Frey & Joe Walsh released solo albums in 2012. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Speaking of Timothy, he's recovering from throat cancer surgery. The procedure was successful.

Whoa! I didn't know he even had cancer. Godspeed and hope he recovers well. Cancer ain't no joke. He has one of the best falsettos in any genre (and the most beautiful long manes on any man ) I dig the Eagles. I guess Timothy wasn't a solo star type of artist like Don, Joe and Glenn are.

I totally hate Don Henley and the Eagles. It might not be totally his fault... I recognize I have a "thing" about them. But I'm on the Big Lebowski's side when it comes to the Eagles. My favorite thing about them is their appearance in the web series Yacht Rock, where they're giving Becker and Fagen noogies in the parking lot while screaming "Nerds! Nerds!"

Had to laugh about that Lebowski comment, that scene always cracks me up I, on the other hand, fucking love the Eagles, man And I'm an even bigger Don Henley fan, his solo albums were just that good...even though I'm a bit thrown off about that supposed Country flair of his new record. But we'll see!

I remember Tim having a song on a soundtrack from some 1980's movie, but don't recall what the movie was. In the video he had his hair cut short. I think he mostly did session work after The Eagles broke up. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
