CD (Item 644968) 1982 — Condition: New Copy

It would have been tough to follow up Street Songs with just about anything, so we guess James just figured he wasn't going to try all that hard anyway, or perhaps he was a little distracted when he was working on this album. While it's not the modern funk monster that it's predecessor was, this is still pretty decent stuff, and we always dug the Frank Frazetta rip-off cover! The big hit "Standing On The Top" was probably the best cut off here, with 9 tracks in all, also including "Throwdown", "Hard To Get", "69 Times" and "Dance Wit' Me". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.

yup, it's on its way!!! woot!

mug gonna be expensive tho' lol

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Very happy about this. I owned the twofer with Street Songs, and "Dance With Me" was short changed (they didn't have the full Lp version on it). So........yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa Japanese import. It's gonna cost some change, but i'll spend it for this. Their also putting out Teena Marie-It Must Be Magic and The Dazz Band - Keep It Live. yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!

That's probably the worst write-up on a record I've ever read. lol

Yeah, that was a less than flattering "review".

While I agree that the album isn't as strong as 'Street Songs',it it still an essential album and one of Rick's best.

Yeah, Dusty Groove did the write up, so you gotta kinda expect that. Plus, alot of people who work there, weren't around when this record came out. So, you gotta take that into consideration too. But, they do the worst reviews of the albums they sell cause of their lack of knowledge, in my opinion.

I remember only paying 30-something, 40 with shipping for mine. I think it went up in value! eek

I just wanted it on CD no matter what. It was always a "car" album for me. I had it on cassette before that, but I can't play cassettes in my Jeep.
