I remember that song when I was 7. Orighinally I thought it was from South Africa for some reason, rather than from a gay Jewish man in New York.
The synthesiser armed division is quite funny and its agreat one hit wonder, what ever happened to Mr Wilder. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yeah. I love that version, because it featured the steel drum... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I remember this song, but never knew who sang it or what he looked like. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I'm glad I saw this thread. I borrowed a CD-R from a friend and ripped some of the songs into my computer and this song is one of them. I couldn't remember the name of the artist so I entered the artist as "Unknown" in the computer. I thought I remembered it as Matthew Wilder but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to be one of the dumbasses like the ones on youtube who aren't sure and list songs such as Yarbrough and People's "Don't Stop The Music" as The SOS Band. Andy is a four letter word.

Oh yes, most 12 Inch versions usually are much better than the original. Sooooo many great 12 Inches from that era from both the R&B and pop worlds. Andy is a four letter word.

Same here. And there were several pop songs that made it onto our local R&B stations and they would only play the 12 Inch versions and the original versions never made it onto the stations. This one and also....
Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart Toni Basil - Mickey Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun The Romantics - Talking In Your Sleep Andy is a four letter word.

Don't u hate the fact, that the woman starts talking half way through the song, there are better clips of this song on You tube, one is an extended version, with Thomas the Tank engine trains in the background. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
