I was at his first show in Stockholm over a year ago and it totally sucks, that he can't release an album . Questlove has been saying this since 06, I don't believe what comes out of his mouth.

He's talented but people are way to far ahead of themselves heaping praise on someone with limited bodies of work. Hes good but he has rarely shown me chops on the guitar for me to even talk of him as a great guitar player.

This one album is not going to be the next coming of Prince & it sure as hell will not have the virtuso guitar playing of Frank Zappa.

D'Angelo is a good guitar player but he is far away from great.

By now I am more interested in D's new album than in a new Prince album. I just have better hope of it being interesting. A song like The Charade is exactly the type of music that I would like Prince to do.

D just seems more genuine as a person and as an artist at this point. Prince seems to be mainly interested in being "Prince, superstar", and not into making music as an artistic statement anymore. D still feels he has something to prove, and it shows in the urgency of his material.

No but it will be an album that I hope Prince will be listening to. I miss the experimental side of Prince's music. And no it won't have the virtuosity of my favorite guitarist Frank Zappa, but it will have the virtuoso guitar playing of Jesse johnson!

I'm eager to hear the studio version of "Charade".

So many people have tried to emulate Prince by going back to the early 80s era with the analog synths and the "dirty" songs, but true fan of his music would know that Prince is so much more. D'Angelo seems to get it.
