You know when you try to introduce your friend's to new music and it doesn't go well?

Now for example if i have a friend who is a strict metal head i would be histant to show them John Lee Hooker or Luther Vandross.

Just like if i have a friend who is strict on R&B i won't show them Venom, Megadeth or Cannibal Corpse.

Anywho so today one of my friend's randomely asked me if Soundgarden is good... knowing his music taste which mainly consists of Catonese pop, country pop and well regular pop i told him i don't think he would dig them much.

So he decided to go to youtube and watched 2 of their videos(I'm assuming it was Black Hole Sun and Been Away To Long since they are the first 2 that pop up)

And he instant messaged me saying and i quote ''Their music has too much emotion and they sing of to depressing! the guy he had the long hair and look like sad God Father? he to weird and only depressing people like this or people who like too much emotion or slow sing''

I respect his opinion and all despite being somewhat confused... i also asked how he can love Lady GaGa and not think what she wears is weird but a guy having long hair is odd?

Whata re some funny opinions your friend's or other have said about artists you like?

Most of them are about Prince, and from people who didn't realize Prince actually played an instrument.

Oh, and that Kind of Blue was the worst record ever made.

Yeah Prince is one i heard a lot of stuff about as well.

But as i have grown older Prince is seen as really cool.. were as in 2005/05 in my middle/high school years my friend's laughed when they heard i liked prince.

As for Kind Of Blue... i adore jazz but it's simply not for everyone. Some people can get into it others are just bored or fall asleep.

I was telling a fellow MJ fan how much I also love Prince last year, and he said that he loves 'For You' and 'Prince' but wasn't much of a fan after those 2 albums. I thought was was quite odd coming from another fan of MJ who is known for his slick and sonic productions, whereas those 2 Prince albums are quite raw and unpolished.

Someone told me that he finds listening to Prince boring because all his songs sound the same.
