You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I liked his Soul Train story. I wonder does Dave know about Jump being played on it later on.

Yeah, there are a couple of threads about ST here that mention it. During the mid 1980's, Soul Train played a lot of pop music and had some acts as guests or showed their videos.

"Jump" was also played on one of our local R&B stations. I can kinda see why because the synths on that song sound kinda Princely.
