MLK Celebration 1/19/2013 w/ The Lowrider Band!

The Lowrider Band will be performing at the 25th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace & Unity Parade and Celebration, on Saturday, January 19, 2013. The parade kicks off at 10:30 am at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Anaheim Street. The celebration follows from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm, at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, located at 1950 Lemon Avenue, Long Beach, CA.

The Lowrider Band will be performing at MLK Jr Park after the parade.

The Lowrider Band consists of four of the five surviving original core group members of the multi-platinum selling band War: Howard E. Scott, B.B. Dickerson, Lee Oskar, and Harold Brown. These members lost the right in federal court to use and tour under the name "War" in the mid-1990s to Far Out Productions (producer and manager Jerry Goldstein)

The Lowrider Band:

Howard E. Scott: Guitar, Vocals

Lee Oskar: Harmonica

Harold Brown: Drums, Vocals

B.B. Dickerson: Bass, Vocals

Chuk Barber: Percussion, Vocals

Lance Ellis: Saxophone

Pete Cole: Keyboards

YES YES YES!

I have a gig myself that night but I might try to go down early to check this out. Would be amazing to see them in their old stomping grounds.

I saw them last summer with Mandrill & they were absolutely stunning.

I wish I could go to this performance. This is the real WAR,with the original members. It's a shame that Lonnie Jordan is still out there touring with a band of unknowns, billings themselves as War

disbelief
