I have everything Jamiroquai has put out and I doubt these "remastered" discs could sound any better than what I own; throwing a bone of a bonus on each disc, I'll pass.

If they offer it via iTunes maybe I will... damn New Years Resolution down the drain.
Actually I downloaded the DeBarge - "Time Will Reveal:" The Complete Motown Albums via iTunes, the remastering was masterful. Any type of CD box sets must have art work and be uniquely packaged if not, its a no go. I'll buy at iTunes which is usually half the price of hardcopy/retail.

do remasters really make that much of a difference to sound? I mean, when they remaster something, what exactly do they do? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Technically, a mastering session is called finishing, because each song on a CD receives the final adjustments that make it sound great on vinyl, CD, MP3 or radio. Each different playback medium requires its own special equalizing, balancing and compression to make the music clear and powerful for the listener. But I don't buy into the hype that all music requires to be remastered especially it recorded for CD. In many instances I think this is a stunt for you to purchase some shit over and over again... they can't make any money really off the junk they are selling now so they push established successful artist. I have I heard music remastered from vinyl to CD or MP3s sound heavenly yes, but I've heard some duds too. Rhino has a good rep on doing masterful remasterings.

I never cared for their stuff before "A Funk Odyssey". Not fast enough and too jazz sounding. . . .

Yes! and that's exactly what makes their first three albums their best
oh and to make it clear, I DO enjoy the later albums as well, however, the magic from the beginning is missing on a lot of these Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I guess you never heard their fourth album Synchronized. You would love that one.Alot of fast disco and retro-funk sounds on that one.

Wait a minute, unless i'm mistaken they've left off "Funktion", originally a bonus track from "Travelling Without Moving", that is a big shame! We're here, might as well get into it.

FUNKTION was probably an US Bonus track only... Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

"Funktion" was a hidden track after "Do You Know Where You're Coming From" so maybe it's on there.

Disco should be every artist's goal. They shouldn't be allowed a recording contract if they don't make it. Andy is a four letter word.
