Not really, considering I think he's overrated outside of big band playing. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |

Steve Gadd John "Jabo" Starks Clyde Stubblefield Bernard "Pretty" Purdie John Blackwell Tony Williams Billy Cobham Max Roach Elvin Jones Mitch Mitchell Maurice White Ed Greene Jerome Brailey Cindy Blackman Harvey Mason David Garibaldi Danny Seraphine George Brown Roger Hawkins Jeff Porcaro Narada Michael Walden... It's about rhythm. RESPECT The Drummer. Damn, some good drummers here. Garibaldi of Tower Of Power - underated IMHO. Love Harvey Mason. Tony Williams has to be my favourite jazz drummer. I think overall Dave Weckl (sp?) could easily claim to be technically the best drummer around. This guy makes even amazing drummers look clueless. I saw him play last year and he was so impressive. Yet one thing struck me. I couldn't remember any of the songs after the gig. He never really settled into a groove. It was more like one big wanking fill. My personal favourite is probably Harvey Mason. And what about Manu Katche (sp?!!!) And also I don't think anybody has give respect to... Vinnie Colaiuta! ...
