Jermaine Jackson

First of all thanks for looking ! smile

I know most people are talking more about his brother nowadays, but does anyone out there appreciate what Jermaine has done over the years? His own material seems to go unnoticed but I might be wrong.

I have the Best of Jermaine Jackson at home. I love this whole CD. My favorite songs are Let Me Tickle Your Fancy and You Like Me, Dont You. I truly think Jermaine's work is underrated and underappreciated.

I love "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy" (didn't Devo write that?) My all time favorite though, is "Come to Me (One Way or Another)." It's got this oriental vibe going. Unfortunately, you NEVER hear this joint on the radio. sad And it NEVER shows up on any of his compilations. It's not even on his "Greatest Hits & Rare Classics." sad It's from the Dynamite LP. I also like "Don't Take it Personal"; he wrote that one for Hazel.

I don't know if Devo wrote it or not, but it sures sounds like something they would do. I never heard Let Me Tickle Your Fancy on the radio and that's why I ended up buying the compilation. Mainstream radio sucks.

Correction, Jermaine recorded the song with Devo. I always heard it on the radio.

btw, stymie is "Come to Me" on your compilation?

Jermaine was the "next" most talented brother for sure but I think he work was rather uneven. Let's Get Serious (co-written by Stevie Wonder if my memory serves me) was a damn good start to a solo career that never really fully took off. A few other "nice" songs over the years like "You Like Me Don't You" "Tickle Your Fancey" And "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin" gave Jermain a solid catalog but nothing earth shaking. Too my "Dynamites" and Pia Zadorra duets to call it a great solo career.

Wasn't Jermaine the lead singer of the J5 until cute little Michael stole the spotlight?

what i'd like to know about Jermaine Jackson is this: people are always making fun of or talking about Michael's bad plastic surgery. why don't they every talk about Jermaine's? the man looks like he's been put in a microwave for about a minute and a half and his face is all bubbled up and melting off of his skull.

I used to love his 'precious moments' album.

This is the one he release after "Dynamite".

IT had a duet with Whitney Houston (as did Dynamite)
entitled 'if you say my eyes are beautiful'.

Very nice.

The whole album is actually quite good in that babyface kind of way.

Anybody knows if Jermaine actually played
bass in Jackson 5?
If that´s the case he´s really a musical genious.
I´ve seen some live clips & it really look like he´s
playing live. Then again maybe he was pushed as hard as
Michael was.

Jermaine is the 2nd most talented Jackson BROTHER (although Randy's songwriting capabilities give him good competition), but Rebbie is the next most talented Jackson after Michael. Her voice is much stronger than people give her credit for.

Jermaine plays bass pretty well, but he never played on any J5 recordings. He also never played bass live with them without another bass player (usually Frank Blair) holding it down. Nathan East played bass in the Jacksons' band on the Victory tour along with Jermaine.
